Kia Sedona (2008 year). Instruction — part 439

TROUBLESHOOTING

PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE

Before replacing or repairing air conditioning components, first determine if the malfunction is due to the
refrigerant charge, air flow or compressor.

Use the Troubleshooting table to help you find the cause of the problem. See TROUBLESHOOTING
CHART
. The numbers indicate the priority of the likely cause of the problem. Check each part in order. If
necessary, replace these parts.

After correcting the malfunction, check the complete system to ensure that performance is satisfactory.

2008 ENGINE

Ignition System - Sedona

DESCRIPTION

Ignition timing is controlled by the electronic control ignition timing system. The standard reference ignition
timing data for the engine operating conditions are preprogrammed in the memory of the ECM (Engine Control
Module).

The engine operating conditions (speed, load, warm-up condition, etc.) are detected by the various sensors.
Based on these sensor signals and the ignition timing data, signals to interrupt the primary current are sent to the
ECM. The ignition coil is activated, and timing is controlled.

REMOVAL

IGNITION COIL

1. Remove the engine cover.

2. Disconnect the ignition coil connector (A).
