Door Lock Control System

SECURITY AND LOCKS

CHECK DOOR LOCK SWITCH.
1) Disconnect the door lock switch harness
connector.
2) Use a tester and check the continuity when
the door lock switch is operated to the LOCK
side.

Connector & terminal

Driver’s side:

(D7) No. 4 — No. 7:

Passenger’s side:

(D125) No. 4 — No. 3:

Did the indicator change from
“No continuity” (1 M

: or more)

to “Continuity exists” (less than
10

:)?

Go to step 4.

Replace the power
window main
switch or door lock
switch.

CHECK DOOR LOCK SWITCH.
Use a tester and check the continuity when the
door lock switch is operated to the UNLOCK
side.

Connector & terminal

Driver’s side:

(D7) No. 5 — No. 7:

Passenger’s side:

(D125) No. 1 — No. 3:

Did the indicator change from
“No continuity” (1 M

: or more)

to “Continuity exists” (less than
10

:)?

Go to step 5.

Replace the power
window main
switch or door lock
switch.

CHECK HARNESS.
Use a tester to measure the resistance between
the door lock switch harness connector and
chassis ground.

Driver’s side:

(D7) No. 7 — chassis ground:

Passenger’s side:

(D125) No. 3 — Chassis ground:

Is the resistance less than 10

:? Go to step 6.

Repair or replace
the harness.

CHECK HARNESS.
1) Disconnect the harness connector of body
integrated unit.
2) Measure the resistance between the body
integrated unit and door lock switch.

Passenger’s side:

Is the resistance less than 10

CHECK HARNESS (DOOR UNLOCK).
Check the harness for open or short circuits
between body integrated unit and each door
lock actuator.

Is harness normal?

Go to step 3.

Repair or replace
the harness.

CHECK HARNESS (TRUNK UNLOCK).
Check the harness for open or short circuits
between body integrated unit and trunk lid lock
actuator.

Connector & terminal

(i84) No. 22 — (R186) No. 2:

Is harness normal?

Go to step 4.

Repair or replace
the harness.

CHECK HARNESS (TRUNK UNLOCK).
Measure the resistance between the trunk lid
lock actuator and chassis ground.

Connector & terminal

(R186) No. 1 — Chassis ground:

Is the resistance less than 10

:? Go to step 5.

Repair or replace
the harness.

CHECK BODY INTEGRATED UNIT OUTPUT
SIGNAL.
Measure the voltage between the connector
terminals of the body integrated unit when mov-
ing the door lock switch to LOCK.

Except for front door LH

(i84) No. 7 (+) — (i84) No. 8 (–):

Front door LH

(i84) No. 7 (+) — (i84) No. 23 (–):

Rear gate

(i84) No. 7 (+) — (i84) No. 22 (–):

Does the voltage change from
less than 1.5 V

o 10 V or

more? (During lock output)

Go to step 6.

Replace the body
integrated unit.

CHECK BODY INTEGRATED UNIT OUTPUT
SIGNAL.
Measure the voltage between the connector
terminals of the body integrated unit when mov-
ing the door lock switch to UNLOCK.

Rear gate

Does the voltage change from

more? (During unlock output)

Go to step 7.

Replace the body
integrated unit.

5. CHECK SEDAN/WAGON IDENTIFICATION INPUT CIRCUIT

CHECK DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR.
Check the door lock actuator.
• Front door lock actuator <Ref. to SL-36,
INSPECTION, Front Door Latch and Door Lock
Actuator Assembly.>
• Rear door lock actuator <Ref. to SL-40,
INSPECTION, Rear Door Latch and Door Lock
Actuator Assembly.>

Is the door lock actuator OK?

Go to step 8.

Replace the door
latch and door lock
actuator assembly.

CHECK REAR GATE LOCK ACTUATOR.
Check the rear gate lock actuator. <Ref. to SL-
43, Rear Gate Latch Assembly.>

Is the rear gate lock actuator
OK?

Temporary poor
contact. Measure
the resistance of
harness connector
between the body
integrated unit and
rear gate lock actu-
ator.

Replace the rear
gate latch assem-
bly.

CONFIRM VEHICLE TYPE.
Confirm the vehicle type.

Is vehicle sedan?

Go to step 2.

Go to step 6.

CHECK CURRENT DATA.
1) Prepare the Subaru Select Monitor kit.
2) Turn the ignition switch to ON (engine OFF)
and run the “PC application for Subaru Select
Monitor”.
3) On the «System Selection Menu» display,
select the {Integ. unit mode}.
4) Select the {Current Data Display}.
5) Select the {Identification SW input} and con-
firm.

Is “ON” displayed?

Go to step 5.

Go to step 3.

CHECK IGNITION CIRCUIT.
Check the ignition switch circuit. <Ref. to SL-49,
INSPECTION, Ignition Key Lock.>

Is the ignition circuit normal?

Go to step 4.

Replace the igni-
tion key lock.

CHECK HARNESS.
1) Disconnect the harness connector of body
integrated unit.
2) Measure the resistance between the body
integrated unit harness connector and chassis
ground.

Connector & terminal

(B281) No. 11 — Chassis ground:

Is it less than 10

Repair or replace
the harness.

Replace the body
integrated unit.

CHECK OPERATION.
1) Turn the ignition switch to ON.
2) LOCK/UNLOCK with the door lock switch.

Does trunk remain closed?

Identification input
circuit is normal.

Check the trunk lid
lock actuator. <Ref.

ACTUATOR AND

CHECK CURRENT DATA.

ground.

CHECK OPERATION.

Does the rear gate lock/unlock? Identification input

circuit is normal.

Check the rear
gate lock actuator.
