3. Use the J 41816-A (1) and the J 41816-2 (2) in order to remove the crankshaft balancer.

4. Remove the balancer (138).

5. Remove the J 42386-A (1) and bolts. See Special Tools .

1. Remove the engine flex plate bolts.
2. Remove the flex plate.
IMPORTANT: The flex plate does not use a locating pin for alignment and
will not initially seat against the crankshaft flange, but will
be pulled onto the crankshaft by the engine flex plate bolts.
This procedure requires a 3 stage tightening process.

OIL LEVEL INDICATOR AND TUBE REMOVAL

1. Remove the oil level indicator (418) from the tube.
2. Remove the oil level indicator tube bolt (419).
3. Remove the oil level indicator tube (420) from the engine block.
IMPORTANT: Inspect the O-ring for cuts or damage. The O-ring seal may
