4. Install the engine flywheel bolts.

Tighten:

1. Tighten the engine flywheel bolts a first pass in sequence to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

NOTE:

Refer to Fastener Notice .

2008 Hummer H2

2. Tighten the engine flywheel bolts a second pass in sequence to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

3. Tighten the engine flywheel bolts a final pass in sequence to 100 N.m (74 lb ft).

5. Install the automatic transmission. Refer to Transmission Replacement .

ENGINE REPLACEMENT

Special Tools

J 41798 Engine Lift Bracket. See Special Tools.

J 21366 Convert Holding Strap. See Special Tools.

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the hood. Refer to Hood Replacement .

2. Remove hood latch (1) from cowl.

3. Leaving the A/C compressor lines connected remove the condenser mounting bolts and

secure to frame rail.

4. Remove the upper radiator support. Refer to Radiator Support Replacement .

5. Reposition the radiator inlet hose clamp at the water pump.

6. Remove the radiator inlet hose from the water pump.
