Diagnostic Aids
It is sometimes possible to set this DTC falsely due to low voltage. Attempt to clear this DTC and
retest.
Circuit/System Testing
1. If this DTC sets attempt to clear the DTC and Retest.
2. If the DTC is cleared, but then resets then replace the transfer case control module,
program, and complete the transfer case motor learn procedure.
Repair Procedures
Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification after completing the diagnostic procedure.

Circuit/System Description
This DTC is set anytime a new transfer case shift control module is installed. The transfer case
motor learn procedure must be performed to erase this DTC. The motor learn procedure allows
the module to learn where the shift rails are located.
Conditions for Running the DTC
The ignition is ON.
System voltage is 10.5-18 volts.
Conditions for Setting the DTC
The motor learn procedure for a new module has not been performed.
Action Taken When the DTC Sets
Shifting is still disabled until the motor learn procedure has been performed.
The SERVICE 4WD indicator will be illuminated for this DTC.
Conditions for Clearing the DTC
The transfer case shift control module clears the DTC if the motor learn procedure has been
successfully performed.

Diagnostic Fault Information
Circuit/System Description
This DTC is set up to detect a high or low voltage situation. This could indicate a vehicle issue in
which all electrical components would be affected. It could also be transfer case control module
specific due to poor power or ground connections.
Conditions for Running the DTC
The ignition is ON.
System voltage is 10.5-18.5 volts.
Conditions for Setting the DTC
The voltage is above 18.5 volts or below 10.5 volts for 15 seconds.
Action Taken When the DTC Sets
Shifting is disabled until the voltages change to be within the specifications.
The SERVICE 4WD will illuminate for the remainder for the ignition cycle.
