3. Remove the connecting rod bearing inserts.

4. Use J 43654 to remove the piston pin retainers. See Special Tools .
5. Remove the piston pin. The pin is a full-floating style and should slide from the piston.
6. Remove the piston from the connecting rod.

1. Clean the deposits from the following components:

2. Inspect the piston for the following conditions:
