P1701 TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE (POWER SUPPLY)
Description
INFOID:0000000003849018
When the power supply to the TCM is cut off, for example because the battery is removed, and the self-diag-
nosis memory function stops, a malfunction is detected.
NOTE:
Since “P1701 TCM-POWER SUPPLY” is indicated when replacing TCM, perform diagnosis after erasing
“Self-Diagnostic Results”.
DTC Logic

DTC DETECTION LOGIC
DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE
NOTE:
Immediately after performing any “DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE”, always turn ignition switch OFF.
Then wait at least 10 seconds before performing the next test.
1.
CHECK DTC DETECTION
With CONSULT-III
1.
Turn ignition switch ON.
2.
Wait for at least 2 consecutive seconds.
3.
Perform “Self-Diagnostic Results” mode for “TRANSMISSION”.
Is “P1701 TCM-POWER SUPPLY” detected?
YES
>> Go to
NO
>> Check intermittent incident. Refer to
GI-35, "Intermittent Incident"
.
Diagnosis Procedure
INFOID:0000000003849020
1.
CHECK TCM POWER SOURCE
1.
Turn ignition switch OFF.
2.
Disconnect TCM connector.
3.
Check voltage between TCM vehicle side harness connector terminals.

TCM-POWER SUPPLY
• When the power supply to the TCM is cut
off, for example because the battery is re-
moved, and the self-diagnosis memory
function stops.
• This is not a malfunction message (When-
ever shutting off a power supply to the
TCM, this message appears on the
screen).
