Since this DTC is difficult to be confirmed, check component function to judge the normality.

CHECK BRAKE SWITCH FUNCTION
With CONSULT
1. On the CONSULT screen, select “EV/HEV” >> “DATA MONITOR” >> “STOP LAMP SW”.
2. Check “STOP LAMP SW” indication under the following conditions.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES
>> INSPECTION END
NO
>> Proceed to
EVC-208, "Diagnosis Procedure"

CHECK STOP LAMP SWITCH OPERATION
1. Turn power switch OFF.
2. Check the stop lamp when depressing and releasing the brake pedal.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES
>> GO TO 5.
NO
>> GO TO 2.
2.
CHECK STOP LAMP SWITCH
Check stop lamp switch. Refer to
EVC-209, "Component Inspection (Stop Lamp Switch)"
.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES
>> GO TO 3.
NO
>> Replace stop lamp switch. Refer to
DTC

CHECK STOP LAMP SWITCH POWER SUPPLY
1. Disconnect stop lamp switch harness connector.
2. Check the voltage between stop lamp switch harness connector and ground.
3. Also check harness for short to ground.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES
>> GO TO 5.
NO
>> GO TO 4.
4.
CHECK STOP LAMP SWITCH POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT
1. Pull out #77 fuse.
2. Check that the fuse is not fusing.
3. Check the continuity between stop lamp switch harness connector and fuse terminal.
4. Also check harness for short to ground and short to power.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES
>> Perform trouble diagnosis for 12V battery power supply circuit.
NO
>> Repair or replace error-detected parts.
5.
CHECK STOP LAMP SWITCH INPUT SIGNAL CIRCUIT
1. Disconnect stop lamp switch harness connector.
2. Disconnect VCM harness connector.
3. Check the continuity between stop lamp switch harness connector and VCM harness connector.
4. Also check harness for short to ground.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES
>> Check intermittent incident. Refer to
GI-53, "Intermittent Incident"
.
NO
>> Repair or replace error-detected parts.

If DTC P2122 or P2123 is displayed with DTC P31E5, first perform the trouble diagnosis for DTC P31E5.

DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE
1.
PRECONDITIONING
• Turn power switch OFF and wait at least 90 seconds.
CAUTION:
During this period, never perform vehicle handling such as opening and closing of doors. If some
kind of vehicle handling is performed, then wait another 90 seconds or more from the time of the
vehicle handling.
• Make sure that 12V battery voltage is 11 V or more.
>> GO TO 2.
2.
PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE
With CONSULT
1. Turn power switch ON and wait at least 1 second.
2. Check self-diagnostic result.
Is DTC detected?
YES
>> Proceed to
EVC-211, "Diagnosis Procedure"
NO
>> INSPECTION END
Diagnosis Procedure

CHECK APP SENSOR 1 POWER SUPPLY-1
1. Turn power switch OFF.
2. Disconnect accelerator pedal position (APP) sensor harness connector.
3. Turn power switch ON.
4. Check the voltage between APP sensor harness connector terminals.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES
>> GO TO 6.
NO
>> GO TO 2.
