Turn ignition switch OFF.
2.
Disconnect air mix door motor connector M88.
3.
Check continuity between air mix door motor terminals 2 and 1,
3, 4, 6.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES
>> GO TO 2.
NO
>> Replace air mix door motor. Refer to XX.

CHECK CIRCUIT CONTINUITY BETWEEN FRONT AIR CONTROL AND AIR MIX DOOR MOTOR
1.
Disconnect front air control connector M51.
2.
Check continuity between front air control harness connector
M51 (A) terminal 19, 20, 21, 22 and air mix door motor harness
connector M88 (B) terminal 3, 6, 1, 4.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES
>> GO TO 3.
NO
>> Repair harness or connector.
3.
CHECK CIRCUIT CONTINUITY BETWEEN FRONT AIR CONTROL AND GROUND
Check continuity between front air control harness connector M51
terminal 19, 20, 21, 22 and ground.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES
>> Replace front air control. Refer to XX.
NO
>> Repair harness or connector.

SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
Component Parts
Intake door control system components are:
• Front air control
• Intake door motor
• In-vehicle sensor
• Ambient sensor
• Sunload sensor
• Intake sensor
• ECM
System Operation
Suction opening is basically fixed in the position FRESH when DEF switch, FRE switch, or OFF switch (only at
the time of REC switch OFF) is pressed or when A/C switch is OFF. It is fixed in the position RECIRCULATION
when REC switch is pressed. It is automatically controlled at all other times.
During automatic control of suction opening, any of FRESH, 20% FRESH and RECIRCULATION is selected
according to the target opening angle of air mix door calculated by front air control based on the in-vehicle
temperature, ambient temperature and the amount of sunload.

The intake door motor is attached to the A/C unit assembly. It rotates
so that air is drawn from inlets set by the front air control Motor rota-
tion is conveyed to a lever which activates the intake door.

CONFIRM SYMPTOM BY PERFORMING OPERATIONAL CHECK - INTAKE DOOR

Press REC (
) switch one time. The recirculation indicator should illuminate.

) switch one time. The fresh indicator should illuminate.
3.
Listen for intake door position change (you should hear blower sound change slightly).
