INTAKE SENSOR
Description
INFOID:0000000004498224
Intake Sensor
The intake sensor is located on the heater and cooling unit. It converts temperature of air after it passes
through the evaporator into a resistance value which is then input to the front air control.
Diagnosis Procedure
INFOID:0000000004498225
SYMPTOM: Intake sensor circuit is open or shorted.
1.
CHECK VOLTAGE BETWEEN INTAKE SENSOR HARNESS CONNECTOR AND BODY GROUND
1. Disconnect intake sensor connector M69.
2. Press ignition switch ON.
3. Check voltage between intake sensor connector M69 terminal 1
and ground.

2.
CHECK INTAKE SENSOR GROUND CIRCUIT BETWEEN INTAKE SENSOR AND FRONT AIR CONTROL
1. Press ignition switch OFF.
2. Disconnect front air control connector M37.
3. Check continuity between front air control connector M37 (A)
terminal 26 and intake sensor harness connector M69 (B) termi-
nal 4.
If OK, check harness for short.

POWER SUPPLY AND GROUND CIRCUIT FOR FRONT AIR CONTROL
Description
INFOID:0000000004498227
COMPONENT DESCRIPTION
FRONT AIR CONTROL
The front air control has a built-in microcomputer which processes
information sent from various sensors needed for air conditioner
operation. The air mix door motors, mode door motor, intake door
motor, blower motor and compressor are then controlled.
Signals from various switches and Potentio Temperature Control
(PTC) are directly entered into front air control.
POTENTIO TEMPERATURE CONTROL (PTC)
The PTC is built into the front air control.

INSPECTION FLOW
1.
CONFIRM SYMPTOM BY PERFORMING OPERATION CHECK - AUTO MODE
1. Press AUTO switch (indicator should illuminate).
2. Confirm that the compressor clutch engages (sound or visual inspection). (Discharge air and blower
speed will depend on ambient, in-vehicle and set temperature.)
Can a symptom be duplicated?
