CONSULT-II INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1.
Turn ignition switch OFF.
2.
Insert NATS program card into CONSULT-II.
Program card
NATS (AEN00A)
3.
Connect CONSULT-II to data link connector.

4.
Turn ignition switch ON.
5.
Touch “START”.

6.
Perform each diagnostic test mode according to each service
procedure.

Description
C/U INITIALIZATION
When replacing any of the following three components, C/U initialization and re-registration
of all NATS ignition keys are necessary.
(NATS ignition key/IMMU/ECM)
SELF-FUNCTION CHECK
ECM checks its own NATS communication interface by itself.
SELF-DIAG RESULTS
Detected items (screen terms) are as shown in the chart EL-138.

ECM received the signal from IMMU that IMMU is malfunctioning.
ECM
ECM is malfunctioning.
CHAIN OF ECM-IMMU
Communication impossible between ECM and IMMU.
DIFFERENCE OF KEY
IMMU can receive the key ID signal but the result of ID verification between
key ID and IMMU is NG.
CHAIN OF IMMU-KEY
IMMU cannot receive the key ID signal.
ID DISCORD, IMM-ECM
The result of ID verification between IMMU and ECM is NG. System initializa-
tion is required.
ELECTRONIC NOISE
Noise (interference) interfered into NATS communication lines during commu-
nicating.
DON’T ERASE BEFORE
CHECKING ENG DIAG
Engine trouble data and NATS trouble data have been detected in ECM.
LOCK MODE
When the starting operation is carried out 5 or more times consecutively
under the folowing conditions, NATS will shift the mode to one which prevents
the engine from being started.
