The ignition signal in the primary circuit is not sent to
ECM during engine cranking or running.

Harness or connectors (The ignition primary cir-
cuit is open or shorted.)

Camshaft position sensor

Camshaft position sensor circuit

NOTE:

If
“DTC
Confirmation
Procedure”
has
been
previously
conducted, always turn ignition switch “OFF” and wait at least
5 seconds before conducting the next test.
I
If DTC 0201 is displayed with DTC 0101, perform trouble
diagnosis for DTC 0101 first. Refer to EC-90.
WITH CONSULT-II
NMEC0692S01
1)
Turn ignition switch “ON”.
2)
Select “DATA MONITOR” mode with CONSULT-II.
3)
Start engine. (If engine does not run, turn ignition switch to
“START” for at least 5 seconds.)
4)
If DTC is detected, go to “Diagnostic Procedure”, EC-114.
WITHOUT CONSULT-II
NMEC0692S02
1)
Turn ignition switch “ON”.
2)
Start engine. (If engine does not run, turn ignition switch to
“START” for at least 5 seconds.)
3)
Turn ignition switch “OFF”, wait at least 5 seconds and then
turn “ON”.
4)
Perform “Diagnostic Test Mode II (Self-diagnostic results)” with
ECM.
5)
If DTC is detected, go to “Diagnostic Procedure”, EC-114.

Turn ignition switch “OFF”, and restart engine.

SEARCH FOR MALFUNCTIONING CIRCUIT
With CONSULT-II
1. Perform “POWER BALANCE” in “ACTIVE TEST” mode with CONSULT-II.
2. Search for circuit which does not produce a momentary engine speed drop.

CHECK IGNITION COIL POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT-I
1. Turn ignition switch ON.
2. Check voltage between ECM terminals 38, 47 and ground with CONSULT-II or tester.
