Rear Design
The rear design has been enlarged and rounded to exhibit width.
F The rear window with a wide feel and rear panel produce top quality appeal.
F The rear combination lamps have taken “roundness” as their motif for a sporty look.
F The positioning of cylindrical, barrel-shaped tail and stop lens in the dark smoke plated extensions and of plated
turn signal and back-up light and rear fog light a level below has produced a rear view which expresses a characteris-
tic and high-class feel.

Meter
An optitron meter with luminescent characters, indicators and scales has
been adopted.
F Three-eye graphic meter has both a sporty and high-class feel in addition to superior ease of visual confirmation.
Seat
High quality seats providing the relaxed feel of first-class seating.
[Front Seat]
F Arm rests have been set for the driver’s and front passenger’s seats, supporting the comfort of those riding in the front.
F The front seats can be reclined backwards to a semi-flat position to create a relaxed and spacious effect.
F An 8-way power seat has been adopted for both the driver’s and front passenger’s seats.
F Fabric seats are standard. Leather specification seats are available as an option.
[Rear Seat]
F The rear seat is fitted with a slide of 120 mm in length which enables the seat to be slid to four different positions.
F A 6:4 dividable fold-down seat has been adopted. Furthermore, the rear seat is fitted with a one-touch fold-down mechanism, which
enables the seat to slide back and fold down at the touch of a button even when the seat has been slid fully forward.
F Headrests for 3 seats have been provided.
F Fabric seats are standard. Real leather specifications are available as an option.

V6 3L 1MZ-FE Engine
Fitted with a V6 3-liter 1MZ-FE engine which utilizes VVT-i and ACIS (3-stage
Acoustic Control Induction System). This engine achieves unrivalled quietness
and torque at low and medium speeds, in addition to excellent fuel economy.
VVT-i (Variable Valve Timing intelligent)
The timing of the opening and closing of the intake valves is controlled by the computer according to driving conditions,
such as engine speed and level of acceleration. Thus, smooth intake and exhaust are achieved to greatly improve torque
in the low and medium speed zones. This also contributes to better fuel economy and reducing of exhaust emission.
ACIS (3 Stage Acoustic Control Induction System)
This system switches between 3 stages of the intake manifold in accordance with engine speed and throttle opening
angle through the use of control valves which have been fitted at 2 positions along the length of the induction path.
This greatly improves induction efficiency and torque in the low and medium speed range.
Active Control Engine Mount
This function utilizes the negative pressure of the engine to move the diaphragm inside the engine mount, thus actively
controlling the mount characteristics. This reduces vibration at idling. As a result, the RX300 realizes the superior
quietness which is proof of it being a high-class vehicle.
Automatic Transaxle
F The compact and high-capacity 4-speed U140F automatic Super ECT (Electronically Controlled Transaxle) has
been adopted to match the output characteristics of the new 1MZ-FE engine
It is a compact, lightweight, and highly rigid automatic transaxle in which the transaxle, front and center differen-
tials, and the transfer unit have been integrated into a compact package.
