Trip computer, a few definitions
When the range falls below 20 miles (30 km),
dashes are displayed. After filling with at least
5 litres of fuel, the range is recalculated and is
displayed when it exceeds 60 miles (100 km).
Range
(miles or km)
The distance which can still be
travelled with the fuel remaining
in the tank (related to the
average fuel consumption over
the last few miles (kilometres)
travelled).
Current fuel
consumption
(mpg or l/100 km or km/l)
Calculated over the last few seconds.
Average fuel
consumption
(mpg or l/100 km or km/l)
Calculated since the last trip
computer reset.
Distance travelled
(miles or km)
Calculated since the last trip
computer reset.
Average speed
(mph or km/h)
Calculated since the last trip
computer reset.
Distance remaining to
destination
(miles or km)
This is the distance remaining to be
travelled to the final destination. It
is either calculated instantly by the
navigation system, if guidance is
activated, or entered by the user.
If the distance is not entered, dashes
are displayed in place of the digits.
If dashes are displayed continuously
while driving in place of the digits,
contact a CITROËN dealer or a
qualified workshop.
This value may vary following a change
in the style of driving or the relief,
resulting in a significant change in the
current fuel consumption.
This function is only displayed from
20 mph (30 km/h).

Ventilation
Air flow paths
The incoming air follows various routes
depending on the controls selected by the
driver:
-
direct arrival in the passenger
compartment (air intake),
-
passage through a heating circuit (heating),
-
passage through a cooling circuit (air
conditioning).
The temperature control enables you to obtain
the level of comfort required by mixing the air of
the various circuits.
The air distribution control enables you to
diffuse the air in the passenger compartment
combining several air vents.
The air flow control enables you to increase or
reduce the speed of the ventilation fan.
Air intake
The air circulating in the passenger compartment
is filtered and originates either from the outside
via the grille located at the base of the windscreen
or from the inside in air recirculation mode.
Control panel
The controls of this system are grouped
together on control panel A on the centre
console. Depending on the model, the
functions offered are:
-
the level of comfort required,
- air flow,
-
air distribution,
-
demisting and defrosting,
-
manual or digital air conditioning controls.
Air distribution
1. Windscreen demisting or defrosting vents.
2.
Front side window demisting or defrosting
vents.
3. Side adjustable air vents.
4. Central adjustable air vents.
5.
Air outlets to the front footwells.
6.
Air outlets to the rear footwells.
System which creates and maintains
comfortable conditions in the vehicle's
passenger compartment.
Comfort
44
C3Picasso_en_Chap03_confort_ed01-2015
In order for these systems to be fully effective, follow the guidelines on operation and
maintenance below:
F If the interior temperature remains very high after the vehicle has been parked in the
sun for a considerable time, first ventilate the passenger compartment for a
few minutes.
Place the air flow control at a sufficient level to provide an adequate renewal of air in
the passenger compartment.
F
To obtain an even air distribution, take care not to obstruct the exterior air intake grilles
located at the base of the windscreen, the nozzles, the vents and the air outlets, as well
as the air extractor located in the passenger compartment on both sides of the rear shelf.
F Do not cover the sunshine sensor, located on the dashboard (behind the instrument
panel); this is used for regulation of the air conditioning system.
F
Operate the air conditioning system for 5 to 10 minutes, once or twice a month to keep it
in good working order.
F Ensure that the passenger compartment filter is in good condition and have the filter
elements replaced regularly (see the "Checks" section).
We recommend the use of a combined passenger compartment filter. Thanks to its
second special active filter, it contributes to the purification of the air breathed by the
occupants and the cleanliness of the passenger compartment (reduction of allergic
symptoms, bad odours and greasy deposits).
F To ensure correct operation of the air conditioning system, you are also advised to have
it checked regularly.
F If the system does not produce cold air, do not use it and contact a CITROËN dealer or
a qualified workshop.
The air conditioning system does not
contain chlorine and does not present
any danger to the ozone layer.
When towing the maximum load on a steep gradient in high temperatures, switching off the
air conditioning saves engine power and so improves towing capacity.
Recommendations for ventilation and air conditioning
The condensation created by the air
conditioning results in a discharge
of water under the vehicle which is
perfectly normal.

prevent an excessive consumption of current.
F It is possible to stop the demist/defrost
operation before it is switched off
automatically by pressing the button again.

F
Switch off the demist/defrost
