10. Lower the vehicle.
11. Fill the engine with clean engine oil.
12. Start the engine and inspect for leaks.
OIL PUMP
Material
CAUTION: The oil pump must be primed prior to starting the engine.

Removal
1. Remove the timing chains. For additional information, refer to TIMING DRIVE
COMPONENTS - ROMEO ENGINE (4.6L) or TIMING DRIVE COMPONENTS -
WINDSOR ENGINE (5.4L) .
2. Remove the oil pan. For additional information, refer to OIL PAN - 4X2, 4.6L or OIL
PAN - 4X2, 5.4L or OIL PAN - 4X4 .
3. If necessary, remove the three bolts and the oil pump screen and pickup tube.

4. Remove the oil pump.
Remove the three bolts.
Remove the oil pump.
