27. Remove the four three-way catalytic converter-to-exhaust manifold nuts (two each side).

28. Remove the starter motor. For additional information, refer to STARTER MOTOR .
29. Remove the transmission bolts.
If equipped with automatic transmission, refer to AUTOMATIC
TRANSAXLE/TRANSMISSION-4R100 or AUTOMATIC
TRANSAXLE/TRANSMISSION-4R70W .
If equipped with manual transmission, refer to MANUAL TRANSMISSION .
30. If equipped with manual transmission, remove the clutch. For additional information, refer
to CLUTCH .
31. Remove the engine support insulator through bolts.

32. Lower the vehicle.
33. Install the special tool.

34. Using the special tool, remove the engine.
