NATURAL GAS VEHICLE MODULE
Manufacturer does not provide a removal and installation procedure.
SENSORS & SWITCHES
FUEL RAIL PRESSURE SENSOR
Manufacturer does not provide a removal and installation procedure. See Fig. 2 .
FUEL RAIL TEMPERATURE SENSOR
Manufacturer does not provide a removal and installation procedure. See Fig. 2 .
FUEL TANK PRESSURE SENSOR
Removal & Installation
Perform FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE under FUEL SYSTEMS. Disconnect the battery ground
cable. Raise and support the vehicle. Disconnect the fuel tank pressure sensor electrical connector (1). See Fig.
3 . Remove the fuel tank pressure sensor (2). To install, replace the fuel tank pressure sensor and spacer "O"
ring seals. Lubricate the fuel tank pressure sensor and spacer "O" ring seals with Super Premium 5W-30 engine
oil prior to installation, to help seal and ease the installation. To complete installation, reverse removal
procedure.

Installation
1. Replace fuel tank solenoid "O" ring seal. Lubricate the fuel tank solenoid "O" ring seal with 5W-30
engine oil prior to installation, to help seal and ease the installation.
2. Check the gap between the solenoid valve and the tank sealing surface in the center portion of each
hexagonal flat with a feeler gauge. See Fig. 6 . The gap must not exceed .002" (.05 mm). The feeler
gauge must be inserted to a depth of .06-.12" (1.6-3.1 mm) to make sure the measurement is accurate. If
the gap exceeds the allowable limit, remove the valve, inspect the sealing surfaces, replace and lubricate
the seal and repeat the tightening and inspection procedure.
3. Install the electrical connector. Install the electrical connector retaining screws. Install the fuel tank(s).
See FUEL TANKS under FUEL SYSTEMS. Perform COMPRESSED NATURAL GAS LEAK TEST
under FUEL SYSTEMS in SYSTEM & COMPONENT TESTING - CNG.
WARNING:
The maximum gap between the solenoid valve and the fuel tank
sealing surface must not be exceeded. If the gap is exceeded, fuel
leakage may occur resulting in a flammable mixture, which could
ignite and cause personal injury.
