Removal & Installation (F150 Supercharged)

1. Relieve the fuel pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE . Disconnect negative battery

cable. Raise and support the vehicle. Drain fuel from vehicle. See FUEL TANK DRAINING . Remove
one hose clamp on the fuel tank filler pipe support. Disconnect the fuel tank to filler pipe hose from the
fuel tank. Disconnect the fuel tank filler pipe vent hose from the fuel tank.

2. Disconnect the fuel lines from the fuel pump. See FUEL LINE CONNECTORS . See Fig. 125 .

Disconnect the Evaporative (EVAP) emission hose. See Fig. 119 . Disconnect the fuel tank pressure
transducer electrical connector. Release the rear EVAP hose clamp and disconnect the hose. Disconnect
the fuel pump electrical connector. Position a suitable jack under the fuel tank. Remove the fuel tank
support straps. See Fig. 117 . Remove the bolts. Remove the fuel tank support straps. Lower the fuel tank.

3. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten fasteners to specification. See TORQUE

SPECIFICATIONS . Perform after repair procedure. See AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE under
EVAPORATIVE EMISSIONS SYSTEMS.

FUEL TANK DRAINING

Blackwood & F150

1. Disconnect the battery. Raise and support vehicle.

2. Remove the rear evaporative emission valve. See Fig. 127 .

3. Using the Hand Pump Fuel Storage Tanker (034-00004) siphon fuel from tank through the rear

evaporative emission valve opening.

NOTE:

Special tools required: Hand Pump Fuel Storage Tanker (034-00004) or
equivalent. See Fig. 126 .

Expedition & Navigator

1. If equipped, turn the air suspension switch off.

2. Release the fuel system pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE .

3. Disconnect the battery ground cable. Raise and support vehicle.

4. Disconnect the fuel tank filler pipe hose. See Fig. 129 .

5. Using the Hand Pump Fuel Storage Tanker (034-00004) and Fuel Tank Drain Hose (310-F013), siphon

fuel from the tank through the filler pipe opening. See Fig. 130 .

NOTE:

Special tools required: Hand Pump Fuel Storage Tanker (034-00004) or
equivalent and Fuel Tank Drain Hose (310-F013). See Fig. 126 and Fig. 128 .
