parent, this indicates a fault

in the instrument panel. This

indicates that it is essential

to stop immediately (as soon as traf-

fic conditions allow). Ensure that the

vehicle is correctly immobilised and

contact an approved Dealer.

Warning Light

This lights up when the ignition is

switched on and goes out when the

engine is started.

– If it lights up continuously, consult an

approved Dealer as soon as possi-

ble;

– if it flashes, reduce the engine speed

until the light stops flashing. Contact

your approved Dealer as soon as

possible.

Low fuel level warning light

This comes on when the igni-

tion is switched on and goes out after a

few seconds. If it comes on when driv-

ing and is accompanied by a beep, fill

up with fuel as soon as possible.

Handbrake “on” or elec-

tronic parking brake warn-

ing light

Driver’s seat belt reminder

and, depending on the vehi-

cle, front passenger seat belt re-

minder.

This lights up on the instrument panel

when the ignition is started, then, if the

driver’s or front passenger’s seat belt

(if this seat is occupied) is not fastened

and the vehicle has reached approxi-

mately 12 mph (20 km/h), it flashes and

a bleep sounds for around 120 sec-

onds.

Note: an object placed on the passen-

ger seat base can activate the warning

light.

Preheating warning light

(diesel version)

This should come on when the igni-

tion is switched on. It indicates that the

heater plugs are in operation. It goes

out when preheating is complete. The

engine can be started.

Airbag warning light

This lights up when the engine

is started and goes out after approxi-

mately three seconds. If it does not

come on when the ignition is switched

on or if it remains lit, there is a fault in

the system.

Contact your approved Dealer as soon

Rear seat belt reminder (depending

of fastened seat belts on the instru-

ment panel for approximately 30 sec-

onds, each time the vehicle is started,

a door is opened or a seat belt is fas-

tened/unfastened. Check that the rear

passengers are wearing seat belts and

that the number of seat belts shown as

fastened corresponds to the number of

rear seat places occupied.

Anti-lock braking warning

light

This lights up when the ignition is

switched on and goes out after approxi-

mately three seconds. If it does not go

out after the ignition is switched on, or

lights up when driving, there is a fault

with the ABS. The braking system then

operates as it would on a vehicle with-

out the system ABS.
Contact an approved Dealer as soon as

possible.

This lights up when the ignition

is switched on and goes out after ap-

proximately three seconds. It comes on

with other warning lights and/or mes-

sages, and is accompanied by a beep.
It requires you to stop immediately,

for your own safety, as soon as traf-

fic conditions allow. Switch off the

engine and do not restart it.
Contact an approved Dealer.

This lights up when the ignition

is switched on and goes out after ap-

proximately three seconds. If it comes

on together with the warning light

and a beep, this indicates a fault

in the electrical circuit.

This lights up when the ignition

is switched on and goes out after ap-

proximately three seconds. If it comes

on on the road, accompanied by the

warning light and a beep, stop

immediately and cut the ignition. Check

the oil level (refer to the information on

“Engine oil level” in Section 4). If the

level is normal, the light has come on

for another reason: please contact an

authorised dealer.

Engine coolant temperature

warning light

This lights up when the ignition is

switched on and goes out when the

engine is started. If it comes on on
the road, accompanied by the

warning light and a beep, stop immedi-

ately and cut the ignition.

Check the coolant level (please refer

to the information on “Levels” in

Section 4). If the level is normal, the

light has come on for another reason:

contact an authorised dealer.

Press switch 1 or 2 as many times as

necessary to obtain the desired display.

Rev counter (rpm × 1,000)

This is displayed according to how the

instrument panel is customised.

Speedometer (km/h or mph)

Fuel gauge

If the level is at the minimum, the

warning light integrated in the indicator

comes on, accompanied by a beep. Fill

up as soon as possible.

Engine oil level low warning

When the engine is started, the instru-

ment panel display alerts you when the

minimum oil level is reached. Refer to

Section 4: “Engine oil level”.
The first time the warning appears, it

can be cleared by pressing button 4

or 5 on the end of stalk 3.
Subsequent warnings will disappear

automatically after 30 seconds.

– With the ignition off, press button 4

or 5 and the start button 6;

– the speedometer unit indicator

flashes for approximately ten sec-

onds, then the new unit is displayed:

release button 4 or 5 when the unit

stops flashing.

To return to the previous mode, repeat

the same operation.
Note: once the battery is switched off,

the trip computer and warning system

automatically returns to the original unit

of measurement.

Overspeed buzzer

Depending on the vehicle and country,

a buzzer sounds for approximately

10 seconds every 40 seconds, as long

as the vehicle is travelling in excess of

72 mph (120 km/h).

Automatic resetting of the

journey parameters

Resetting occurs automatically when

the maximum value of any of the pa-

rameters is exceeded.

Journey record

Once the engine is switched off, you

will see “journey record” displayed, en-

abling you to view information relating

to your last journey:
– distance travelled;
– average fuel consumption;
– total consumption.

Interpreting some of the

values displayed after

resetting

The values showing average fuel con-

sumption and average speed will

become more stable and reliable the

further you have travelled since the last

time the Reset button was pressed.
The average fuel consumption may de-

crease when:
–

the vehicle stops accelerating;

–

the engine reaches its operating

temperature (if the engine was cold

when the reset key was pressed);

–

when driving from an urban area

onto the open road.

Trip mileage resetting

With “trip mileage recorder” selected on

the display, press button 2 or 3 until the

mileage recorder resets to zero.

Resetting the journey

With one of the journey parameters se-

lected on the display, press button 2

Mileage before service

With the ignition switched on and the engine not running,

when the message “Mileage before next service” is displayed,

press button 2 or 3 for around 5 seconds to display the mile-

age before the next service (distance or time remaining before

the next service). When the distance value approaches its limit,

there are several possible scenarios:

–

distance/time remaining less than 900 miles (1,500 km) or

one month: the message “Service due in” is displayed ac-

companied by the nearest term (distance or time);

–

distance equal to 0 miles or service date reached: the

message “service vehicle” is displayed accompanied by the

warning light.

The vehicle requires a service as soon as possible.
