IDENTIFYING AIRBAG SYSTEM PROBLEMS
Perform TEST SYMPTOM IDENTIFICATION 1A Before Proceeding
1. Ensure the battery is fully charged.
2. Ensure there is communication with the ‘‘Mechanical Instrument Cluster’’, “Powertrain Control
Module” and the ‘‘Airbag Control Module’’ before proceeding.
If any communication problems are found. . . . . .perform ‘‘Vehicle Communication’’ TEST 1A.
3. With the DRB, read both active and stored code(s) and record them.
If any of the following codes are present (active or stored), . . . . . . . . . . .perform TEST 19A.
ACM ACCELEROMETER
ACM FIRING STORED ENERGY CODE
ACM INTERNAL DIAGNOSTIC CODE #1
ACM INTERNAL DIAGNOSTIC CODE #2
ACM OUTPUT DRIVER
NOTE:
If the ‘‘Power Stage Not Tested’’ DTC is active, stored, or it is combined with any of the marked
(*) codes shown below . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .perform TEST 19A
With the DRB, erase stored codes.
If there are no active codes present, go to Step 4.
If any of the following active codes are present, perform the test indicated below.
