With the DRBIII
t check for response from the Body Computer and the Power
Liftgate Modules
Is there response from both modules?
All
Yes
→ Go To 2
No
→ Refer to symptom list for problems related to COMMUNICA-
TION.

With the DRBIII
t, read DTCs in POWER LIFTGATE and BODY COMPUTER.
Are any Power Liftgate related codes present?
All
Yes
→ Refer to symptom list for problems related to POWER LIFT-
GATE.
No
→ Go To 3

This test will determine what inhibited the Power Liftgate from operating properly.
With the DRBIII
t, select POWER LIFTGATE, MISCELLANEOUS, LAST INHIBIT
MONITOR.
Does the DRBIII
t display any INHIBIT REASONS?
All
Yes
→ Check for any binding conditions or other restrictions that may
prevent proper operation. Using the wiring diagram/schematic as
a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors.
No
→ Go To 4

Ensure Liftgate is fully closed before proceeding.
With the DRBIII
t select SYSTEM TEST.
Perform the Open, Close, Latch Cinch, Latch Release and Relay tests.
Did any test fail?
All
Yes
→ Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the
wiring and connectors.
No
→ Test Complete.

POWER DOORS - LIFTGATE
Symptom:
AMBIENT TEMPERATURE SENSOR CIRCUIT OPEN
When Monitored and Set Condition:
AMBIENT TEMPERATURE SENSOR CIRCUIT OPEN
When Monitored:
Anytime the Power Sliding Door Module is awake.
Set Condition:
If the Power Sliding Door Modules internal thermistor becomes open, this
code will set.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
DTC PRESENT
POWER SLIDING DOOR MODULE

With the DRBIII
t, record and erase DTC’s.
Turn the ignition off, wait 10 seconds, then turn the ignition on.
Operate the power sliding door several times from stop to stop if possible.
With the DRBIII
t, read ACTIVE DTCs.
Does the DRBIII
t display AMBIENT TEMPERATURE SENSOR CIRCUIT HIGH?
All
Yes
→ Replace the Power Sliding Door Module.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
No
→ No problem found at this time.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

POWER DOORS - SLIDING
Symptom:
AMBIENT TEMPERATURE SENSOR CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND
When Monitored and Set Condition:
AMBIENT TEMPERATURE SENSOR CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND
When Monitored:
Anytime the Power Sliding Door Module is awake.
Set Condition:
If the Power Sliding Door Modules internal thermistor is shorted, this
code will set.

POWER SLIDING DOOR MODULE

With the DRBIII
t, record and erase DTC’s.
Turn the ignition off, wait 10 seconds, then turn the ignition on.
Operate the power sliding door several times from stop to stop if possible.
With the DRBIII
t, read ACTIVE DTCs.

t display AMBIENT TEMPERATURE SENSOR CIRCUIT LOW?
All
Yes
→ Replace the Power Sliding Door Module.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
No
→ No problem found at this time.

POWER DOORS - SLIDING
Symptom:
CONTROL MODULE FAILURE - INTERNAL FAILURE
When Monitored and Set Condition:
CONTROL MODULE FAILURE - INTERNAL FAILURE
When Monitored:
Anytime the module is awake.
Set Condition:
Whenever the module senses an internal failure (EEPROM, ROM, ADC)
this code will set. The module must be replaced.

Replace the Sliding Control Module.
