The parking, license plate and tail lamps do not turn ON in any combination switch (lighting and turn signal

switch) position.

Diagnosis Procedure

COMBINATION SWITCH (LIGHTING AND TURN SIGNAL SWITCH) INSPECTION

Check the combination switch (lighting and turn signal switch). Refer to

BCS-68, "Symptom Table"

(with Intel-

ligent Key) or

BCS-121, "Symptom Table"

(without Intelligent Key).

Is the combination switch (lighting and turn signal switch) normal?

YES

>> GO TO 2.

NO

>> Repair or replace the malfunctioning part.

2.

CHECK TAIL LAMP RELAY REQUEST SIGNAL INPUT

CONSULT DATA MONITOR

1. Select TAIL & CLR REQ of IPDM E/R DATA MONITOR item.

2. While operating the combination switch (lighting and turn signal switch), check the monitor status.

Is the item status normal?

YES

>> GO TO 3.

NO

>> Replace BCM. Refer to

BCS-69, "Removal and Installation"

(with Intelligent Key) or

BCS-122,

"Removal and Installation"

(without Intelligent Key).

3.

PARK LAMP CIRCUIT INSPECTION

Check the parking lamp circuit. Refer to

EXL-11, "PARKING, LICENSE PLATE AND TAIL LAMP SYSTEM :

System Description"

.

Is the tail lamp circuit normal?

YES

>> Replace IPDM E/R. Refer to

PCS-30, "Removal and Installation"

(with Intelligent Key) or

PCS-56,

"Removal and Installation"

(without Intelligent Key).

NO

>> Repair or replace the malfunctioning part.

Is the combination switch (lighting and turn signal switch) normal?

YES

>> GO TO 2.

NO

>> Repair or replace the malfunctioning part.

CHECK FRONT FOG LAMP REQUEST SIGNAL INPUT

CONSULT DATA MONITOR

1. Select FR FOG REQ of IPDM E/R DATA MONITOR item.

2. With operating the front fog lamp switch, check the monitor status.

Is the item status normal?

YES

>> GO TO 3.

NO

>> Replace BCM. Refer to

BCS-69, "Removal and Installation"

(with Intelligent Key) or

BCS-122,

"Removal and Installation"

(without Intelligent Key).

FRONT FOG LAMP CIRCUIT INSPECTION

Check the front fog lamp circuit. Refer to

EXL-90, "Diagnosis Procedure"

.

Is the front fog lamp circuit normal?

YES

>> Replace IPDM E/R. Refer to

PCS-30, "Removal and Installation"

(with Intelligent Key) or

PCS-56,

"Removal and Installation"

(without Intelligent Key).

NO

>> Repair or replace the malfunctioning part.

HEADLAMP AIMING ADJUSTMENT

PREPARATION BEFORE ADJUSTING

CAUTION:

Do not use organic solvent (thinner, gasoline etc.)

NOTE:

• For details, refer to the regulations in your own country.

• Perform aiming if the vehicle front body has been repaired and/or the front combination lamp has been

replaced.

• Before performing aiming adjustment, check the following:

• Keep all tires inflated to correct pressure.

• Place vehicle on level ground.

• See that vehicle is unloaded (except for full levels of coolant, engine oil and fuel, and spare tire, jack, and

tools). Have the driver or equivalent weight placed in driver seat.

• Adjust aiming in the vertical direction by turning the adjusting screw.

• When performing adjustment, if necessary, cover the headlamps and opposite fog lamp. Adjust aiming in the

vertical direction by turning the adjusting screw.

1. Position the screen.

NOTE:

• Stop the vehicle facing the screen.

HEADLAMP AIMING ADJUSTMENT

• Set the screen so that it is perpendicular to the road.

2. Make the distance between the headlamp center and the screen 7.62 m (25 ft).
3. Start the engine and illuminate the headlamp (LO).

CAUTION:

Do not cover the lens surface with tape, etc. because it is made of plastic.

NOTE:

Block the light from the headlamp that is not being adjusted with a thick fabric or similar object, so that it

does not reach the adjustment screen.

4. Use the adjustment screw to adjust the low beams on the screen, so that it is within the aiming adjustment

area.

• Basic illuminating area for adjustment should be within the range shown on the aiming chart. Adjust head-

lamps accordingly.
