DTC DETECTION LOGIC
POSSIBLE CAUSE
• Harness or connectors (The sensor power supply 2 circuit is shorted.)
• Refrigerant pressure sensor
• Exhaust electric throttle control actuator
• DPF differential pressure sensor
• Exhaust gas pressure sensor
• Accelerator pedal position sensor 2
FAIL-SAFE
• Air conditioner deactivation
• Torque limitation
• CCSL deactivation with dashboard message
• Freeshift inhibited
• After sales routines forbidden
• FAN 2 activation
DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE
1.
PRECONDITIONING
If DTC Confirmation Procedure has been previously conducted, always turn ignition switch OFF and wait at
least 1 minute before conducting the next test.
>> GO TO 2.
2.
PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE
1.
Turn ignition switch ON and wait at least 1 second.
2.
Check DTC.
Is DTC detected?
YES
>> Proceed to
EC-1077, "Diagnosis Procedure"
.
NO-1
>> To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to
GI-44, "Intermittent Incident"
NO-2
>> Confirmation after repair: INSPECTION END

CHECK SENSOR POWER SUPPLY
1.
Turn ignition switch ON.
2.
Check the voltage between ECM harness connector and ground.

(Sensor reference voltage “B” circuit/open)
• 1.DEF: VOLTAGE TOO LOW
• 2.DEF: VOLTAGE TOO HIGH
• A voltage of sensor power supply is 5.3 V or more.
• A voltage of sensor power supply is 4.7 V or less.

Is the inspection result normal?
YES
>> INSPECTION END
NO
>> GO TO 2.
2.
CHECK SENSOR POWER SUPPLY CIRCUITS
1.
Turn ignition switch OFF.
2.
Check harness for short to power and short to ground, between the following terminals.
*1: CVT models
*2: M/T models
Is the inspection result normal?
YES
>> GO TO 3.
NO
>> Repair short to ground or short to power in harness or connectors.
3.
CHECK COMPONENTS
Check the following.
• Accelerator pedal position sensor. Refer to
EC-1025, "Component Inspection (Accelerator Pedal Position
• Refrigerant pressure sensor. Proceed to
EC-1056, "Diagnosis Procedure"
.
• DPF differential pressure sensor. Proceed to
EC-1095, "Component Inspection (DPF Differential Pressure
• Exhaust electric throttle control actuator. Proceed to
EC-1098, "Component Inspection (Exhaust Throttle
• Exhaust gas pressure sensor. Proceed to
EC-1048, "Component Inspection (Exhaust Gas Pressure Sen-
Is the inspection result normal?
YES
>> INSPECTION END
NO
>> Replace malfunctioning component.

Diagnosis Procedure

CHECK FUSE
Check that the fuse is not fusing.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES
>> GO TO 2.
NO
>> Replace the fuse after repairing the applicable circuit.
2.
CHECK ECM POWER SUPPLY
1.
Reinsert the fuse pulled out.
2.
Turn ignition switch ON.
3.
Check the voltage between ECM harness connector and ground.

CHECK ECM RELAY CONTROL SIGNAL
1.
Turn ignition switch OFF.
2.
Check the voltage between ECM harness connector and ground.
3.
Turn ignition switch ON.
4.
Check the voltage between ECM harness connector and ground.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES
>> GO TO 5.
NO
>> GO TO 4.
4.
CHECK ECM RELAY CONTROL CIRCUIT
1.
Turn ignition switch OFF.
2.
Disconnect IPDM E/R harness connector.
3.
Check the continuity between ECM harness connector and IPDM E/R harness connector.
4.
Also check harness for short to ground.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES
>> Check IPDM E/R.
NO
>> Repair or replace error-detected parts.
5.
CHECK ECM POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT
1.
Turn ignition switch OFF.
2.
Disconnect IPDM E/R harness connector.
3.
Check the continuity between ECM harness connector and IPDM E/R harness connector.
4.
Also check harness for short to ground.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES
>> Replace IPDM E/R (ECM relay malfunction).
NO
>> Repair or replace error-detected parts.
