Do not use soapy water or any type of solvent while installing vacuum hose.

Removal and Installation

CAUTION:

Perform ADDITIONAL SERVICE WHEN REPLACING ECM. Refer to

EC-944, "Work Procedure"

.

REMOVAL (CVT MODELS)

1.

Remove the battery. Refer to

PG-139, "R9M : Removal and Installation"

2.

Remove the air duct (inlet). Refer to

EM-308, "Exploded View"

.

3.

Disconnect the TCM harness connector

and the ECM har-

ness connector

. Refer to

PG-7, "Harness Connector"

(lever

locking type).

4.

Remove the battery tray with ECM and TCM. Refer to

PG-143, "R9M : Removal and Installation"

.

5.

Remove TCM bracket with TCM. Refer to

PG-148, "EXCEPT FOR R9M : Removal and Installation"

.

6.

Remove ECM from the battery tray.

REMOVAL (M/T MODELS)

1.

Remove the battery. Refer to

PG-139, "R9M : Removal and Installation"

2.

Remove the air duct (inlet). Refer to

EM-308, "Exploded View"

.

3.

Disconnect the ECM harness connector. Refer to

PG-7, "Harness Connector"

(lever locking type).

4.

Remove the battery tray with ECM. Refer to

PG-143, "R9M : Removal and Installation"

.

5.

Remove ECM from the battery tray.

INSTALLATION

Install in the reverse order of removal.

REMOVAL

1.

Remove front fender protector (LH). Refer to

EXT-35, "FENDER PROTECTOR : Removal and Installa-

tion"

.

2.

Disconnect glow control unit harness connector.

3.

Remove glow control unit from bracket.

INSTALLATION

Install in the reverse order of removal.

REMOVAL

1.

Remove front fender protector (LH). Refer to

EXT-35, "FENDER PROTECTOR : Removal and Installa-

tion"

.

2.

Disconnect thermoplunger control unit harness connector.

3.

Remove thermoplunger control unit from bracket.

INSTALLATION

Install in the reverse order of removal.
