Kia Sedona (2008 year). Manual — part 187
Substitute with a known-good DDM and check for proper operation.
If the problem is corrected, replace DDM and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE
REPAIR" procedure.
VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
RAM is a component of BCM that consists of DDM, ADM, IPM, FAM, IMS and cluster module. Each part of
BCM is connected to one another through CAN communication line for efficient communication. Those
modules control front/rear, driver/passenger seat, cluster with electrical signal and they share information with
other modules. RAM (Rear Area Module) set up at rear-left of passenger room controls various rear lamps (tail
lamp, rear turn signal lamp, backup lamp, stop lamp, cabin lamp), window (sliding door power window, quarter
glass, rear defogger), rear wiper and oil cap door. Received multi function switch rear wiper signal from IPM
through CAN line, RAM controls rear wiper. Auto parking switch is set up inside of rear wiper, and it transfers
wiper operating condition to RAM as monitoring.
DTC DESCRIPTION
B2441 is set when PARK signal is not detected for more than 5 sec. in rear wiper.

MONITOR DTC STATUS
1. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC).
2. Ignition "ON" & engine "OFF".
3. Select "Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs)" mode and monitor "DTC Status" parameter.
4. Is the DTC B2441 present?
YES
Go to TERMINAL AND CONNECTOR INSPECTION procedure.
NO
Fault is intermittent caused by poor contact in the sensor's and/or ECM's connector or was repaired and
ECM memory was not cleared. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending,
corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and then go to
"VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR" procedure.
TERMINAL AND CONNECTOR INSPECTION
1. Electrical systems consist of a lot of harness and connectors, poor connection of terminals can cause
various problems and damage of component.
2. Check poor connection, bedding, corrosion, contamination, deformation of connector and its terminals.
3. Is any problem found?
YES
Repair if necessary and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR".
NO
Go to SIGNAL CIRCUIT INSPECTION.
SIGNAL CIRCUIT INSPECTION
1. Check short in signal circuit
1. Ignition "ON" & engine "OFF"
