Circuit operation

Front fog lamps (With airbag)<BR>

With the light switch in "PARK" or "HEAD" position, one side of "TNS" relay coil is grounded through the light
switch, energizing the relay (the other side of the coil is powered through "TNS(30A)" fuse).
When energized, the normally open contacts of the front fog lamp switch through the "FOG(15A)" fuse, and G
wire. The front lamps illuminate when front fog lamp switch is pressed.

Front fog lamps (Without airbag)

With the light switch in "PARK" or "HEAD" position, battery voltage to be applied to the front fog lamp switch
through the "FOG(15A)" fuse, and G wire.The front lamps and fog switch illumination lamp illuminate when
front fog lamp switch is pressed.

Front fog lights (With airbag)

Preliminary check:
Check an open lamp filament before proceeding with diagnosis. If bulb is damaged, check connection of the
bulb and replace bulb. In addition, check "FOG(15A)" fuse and TNS relay. If open, check for short to ground
though the R wire and overload, replace fuse or relay and check that all system electrical connectors mated
correctly.
Front fog lights do not operate.

Connect test light between the combination
switch terminal C(G) of E-01 and ground.Is
test light ON?

Yes

Go to next step

No

Repair open or short in the wire "G" to
combination switch or replace.

Connect test light between the combination
switch terminal C(G) of E-01 and terminal
H(B) of E-01.
Is test light ON?

Yes

Go to next step

No

Check for a poor connection at ground. If
OK, repair open in the wire "B" or replace.

Disconnect combination switch connector.
Check for continuity between terminals of
combination switch by turning the switch.
Is combination switch normal?

Yes

Go to next step

No

Replace combination switch assembly.

Connect combination switch connector and
turn the combination switch to "PARK"
position.
Connect test light between terminal B(R) of
front fog lamp switch E-06 and ground.
Is test light ON?

Yes

Go to next step

No

Repair open or short in the wire "R" or
replace.

Turn the combination switch to "OFF"
position and disconnect front fog lamp
switch.
Check for continuity between terminals of
front fog lamp switch by pressing the
switch.
Is continuity present ON?

Yes

Go to next step

No

Replace front fog lamp switch.

Connect front fog lamp switch and turn the
combination switch to "PARK" position.
Connect test light between terminal A(G) of
LH front fog lamp E-07 and ground.
Is test light ON?

Yes

Go to next step

No

Check for a poor connection at front fog
lamp switch.
If OK, repair open or short in the wire "G"
between front fog lamp switch and LH front
fog lamp or replace.

Connect test light between terminal A(G)
and terminal B(B) of LH front fog lamp
E-07 and ground.
Is test light ON?

Yes

Go to next step

No

Check for a poor connection at ground. If
OK, repair open in the wire "B" or replace.

Connect test light between terminal A(G) of
RH front fog lamp E-08 and ground.
Is test light ON?

Yes

Go to next step

No

Repair open or short in the wire "G"
between front fog lamp switch and LH front
fog lamp or replace.

Connect test light between terminal A(G)

Yes

Go to next step
