Preliminary Procedures

1. Open the console compartment door.

2. Apply the parking brake.

3. Place the shift lever in NEUTRAL position.

NOTE:

Refer to Fastener Notice .

NOTE:

Do NOT pull or pry on the shift boot. This action may damage the shift boot retainers.

Tighten: 4 N.m (35 lb in)

AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION RANGE SELECTOR LEVER CABLE REPLACEMENT

Removal Procedure

1. Ensure the vehicle is in the park position.

2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .

Tip: The console shift bezel retainers must be released from the underside of the
console upper trim plate.
