1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .

2. Place a suitable drain pan under the oil filter.

3. Remove the oil filter (437).

4. Remove the oil filter adapter (438).

Installation Procedure

1. Install the oil filter adapter (438).

Tighten: Tighten the adapter to 55 N.m (40 lb ft).

NOTE:

Refer to Fastener Notice .

2. Lubricate the oil filter seal with clean engine oil.

3. Install the oil filter (437).

Tighten: Tighten the filter to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).

4. Lower the vehicle.

5. Refill the engine oil. Refer to Approximate Fluid Capacities and/or Fluid and

Lubricant Recommendations .
