is in the ON position.
2. With a scan tool, observe the Hazard
Lamp Switch data parameter in the
body control module (BCM) data
list.
Does the scan tool display Inactive?

ground circuit for an open or high
resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and
Wiring Repairs .

the headlamp dimmer switch?

1. Place the headlamp and panel dimmer
switch in the OFF position.

Headlamp OFF Switch data
parameter in the Body Control
Module (BCM) data list.
Does the scan tool display Active?
Go to Step 10

1. Disconnect the headlamp and panel
dimmer switch. Refer to Headlamp
Switch Replacement.
2. Place a fused jumper between the
headlamp switch headlamps OFF
signal circuit and low reference circuit
terminals.
Does the scan tool display Active?

Test for an open or high resistance in one of
the following headlamp and panel dimmer
switch circuits. Refer to Circuit Testing
and Wiring Repairs .
The headlamp switch headlamps OFF

The low reference circuit

Remove the headlamp relay. Refer to Relay
Replacement (Attached to Wire
Harness) or Relay Replacement (Within

relay control circuit connector terminal.
