Toyota Tundra. Manual — part 1369
MONITOR DESCRIPTION
If the output voltage transmitted by the knock sensor remains low or high for more than 1 second, the ECM
interprets this as a malfunction in the sensor circuit, and sets a DTC.
The monitor for DTCs P0327, P0328, P0332 and P0333 begins to run when 5 seconds have elapsed since the
engine was started.
If the malfunction is not repaired successfully, DTC P0327, P0328, P0332 or P0333 is set 5 seconds after the
engine is next started.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
HINT:
DTCs P0327 and P0328 are the bank 1 knock sensor circuit.
DTCs P0332 and P0333 are the bank 2 knock sensor circuit.
Read freeze frame data using the Techstream. Freeze frame data records the engine condition when
malfunctions are detected. When troubleshooting, freeze frame data can help determine if the vehicle was
moving or stationary, if the engine was warmed Up or not, if the air-fuel ratio was lean or rich, and other
data from the time the malfunction occurred.
1. READ DTC OUTPUT (CHECK KNOCK SENSOR CIRCUIT)
a. Disconnect the ED2 connector.
b. Using lead wires, connect the connectors as follows:

c. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
d. Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the Techstream ON.
e. Clear DTCs. (See DTC CHECK/CLEAR ).
f. Warm up the engine.
g. Run the engine at 3000 RPM for 10 seconds or more.
h. Enter the following menus: Powertrain/Engine and ECT/Trouble Codes.
i. Read the DTCs.

HINT:
If DTC P0327 or P0328 has changed to P0332 or P0333, check the knock sensor circuit on
the left bank side.
If DTC P0332 or P0333 has changed to P0327 or P0328, check the knock sensor circuit on
the right bank side.

2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CONNECTOR - ECM)
a. Disconnect the ED2 connector.
b. Disconnect the D74 ECM connector.
c. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

DTC is different from when vehicle brought in (for example, P0327 and P0328 are
output at first, but then P0332 and P0333 are output, or vice versa)
