REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

2. REMOVE LOWER STEERING COLUMN COVER (See REMOVAL )

3. REMOVE UPPER STEERING COLUMN COVER (See REMOVAL )

4. REMOVE IGNITION KEY CYLINDER LIGHT

a. Disconnect the unlock warning switch connector.

b. Detach the 2 claws.

c. Disconnect the connector and remove the key cylinder light.

INSPECTION

1. INSPECT IGNITION KEY CYLINDER LIGHT

a. Connect the battery's positive (+) lead to terminal 2 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 6.

NOTE:

After the ignition switch is turned OFF, the navigation system
requires approximately 90 seconds to record various types of
memory and settings. As a result, after turning the ignition switch
OFF, wait 90 seconds or more before disconnecting the cable from
the negative (-) battery terminal.

Some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected
(see INITIALIZATION ).

b. Check that the light comes on.

OK: Light illuminates.

If the result is not as specified, replace the key cylinder light.

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL IGNITION KEY CYLINDER LIGHT

a. Connect the connector.

b. Attach the 2 claws to install the key cylinder light.

c. Connect the unlock warning switch connector.

2. INSTALL UPPER STEERING COLUMN COVER (See INSTALLATION )

4. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

COMPONENTS

NOTE:

Some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (see
INITIALIZATION ).

REMOVAL

1. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH (for Regular Cab) (See REMOVAL )

2. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH (for Double Cab) (See REMOVAL )

3. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD RH (See REMOVAL )

4. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL RH (See REMOVAL )

5. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY RH (See

REMOVAL )

6. REMOVE GLOVE BOX LIGHT ASSEMBLY

a. Detach the 2 claws.

b. Remove the box light and then disconnect the connector.

INSPECTION

1. INSPECT GLOVE BOX LIGHT ASSEMBLY

a. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
