ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

1. INSPECT OIL PRESSURE SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY

a. Disconnect the sender gauge connector.

b. Apply battery positive (+) voltage to the sender gauge terminal through a test LED.

c. Check that the LED does not illuminate when the engine is stopped.

d. Check that the LED flashes when the engine is running. The number of flashes varies with engine

speed.

If the operation is not as specified, replace the sender gauge.

REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

2. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER (see REPLACEMENT )

3. REMOVE OIL PRESSURE SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY

a. Disconnect the sender gauge connector.

b. Remove the sender gauge.

NOTE:

After the ignition switch is turned OFF, the navigation system
requires approximately 90 seconds to record various types of
memory and setting. As a result, after turning the ignition switch
OFF, wait 90 seconds or more before disconnecting the cable from
the negative (-) battery terminal.

Some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected
(see INITIALIZATION ).

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL OIL PRESSURE SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY

a. Apply adhesive to 2 or 3 threads of the sender gauge.

Adhesive:

Toyota Genuine Adhesive 1344, Three Bond 1344 or equivalent

b. Install the sender gauge.

Torque: 15 N*m (153 kgf*cm, 11 ft.*lbf)

c. Connect the sender gauge connector.

NOTE:

Do not start the engine within 1 hour of installation.

2. INSPECT FOR OIL LEAK (see REPLACEMENT )

3. CHECK ENGINE OIL LEVEL (see ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION )

4. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER (see REPLACEMENT )

5. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

NOTE:

Some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (see
