NG: REPLACE SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )

OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS

5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NAVIGATION RECEIVER - BATTERY)

a. Disconnect the K18 receiver connector.

b. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard voltage

(EAU)

Spiral cable is centered

Spiral cable is turned 2.5 rotations clockwise

CAUTION: The spiral cable is an important part of the SRS airbag system.

Incorrect removal or installation of the spiral cable may prevent
the airbag from deploying. Be sure to read the PRECAUTION for
the supplemental restraint system (see PRECAUTION ).

6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NAVIGATION RECEIVER - COMBINATION

METER)

a. Disconnect the K18 display connector.

b. Disconnect the J28 meter connector.

c. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

DESCRIPTION

This circuit is from the parking brake switch to the navigation receiver.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1. CHECK BRAKE WARNING SWITCH

a. Check that the brake warning switch lights come on when the parking brake is applied and goes off

when it is released.

OK: The brake warning lights operate as specified above.

OK: Go to step 3

NG: Go to Next Step

2. INSPECT PARKING BRAKE SWITCH

a. Disconnect the A5 switch connector.

b. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance

ON (When shaft is not pressed)
