Disconnect the vent line hose from the fuel tank

Connect the pressure gauge to the fuel tank

Fill the fuel tank with fuel

Apply pressure of 4 kPa (41 gf/cm

2

, 0 6 psi) to the vent port of the fuel tank

HINT:

In the condition that the fuel is full, as the float value of the fill check valve is closed and has no
ventilation, it is necessary to check the fuel amount (volume)

Remove the fuel tank cap, and check that the pressure inside the tank drops

If pressure does not drop, replace the fuel tank assembly

f

Reconnect the vent line hose to the fuel tank

CHECK AIR INLET LINE

Disconnect the air inlet line hose from the charcoal canister

b

Check that there is ventilation in the air inlet line

HINT:

If air cannot flow freely into the air inlet line, repair or replace it

c

Reconnect the air inlet line hose to the charcoal canister

INSPECT PRESSURE SENSOR

a

Connect a pressure gauge to the air pressure sensor as shown in the illustration

Connect the Techstream to the DLC3

c

Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the Techstream ON

d

Enter the following menus:

Select: Powertrain/Engine and ECT/Data List/All Data/Air pump pressure (absolute)

Check that the pressure displayed on the tester fluctuates when applying pressure to the pressure
sensor with the pressure gauge

OK:

Pressure fluctuates in response to pressure applied with pressure gauge.

HINT:

The tester displays the air pump pressure (AIR PMP PRS (A) and AIR PMP2 PRS (A)) as absolute
pressure

Check the power source voltage

Disconnect the connector

2

Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below

NOTE:

When applying pressure, make sure that no foreign matter enters the
sensor.
