3. Security Indicator Light:

informs the driver of the theft deterrent system status.

Depending on operation of the transponder key ECU, the interior security indicator
light comes on or starts blinking.

4. Clearance Warning Indicator:

Displays the location of the obstacle and the approximate distance between the vehicle
and the obstacle.

Turns on and off according to the intuitive parking assist system status.

Emits an intermittent sound to inform the driver that the ECU has detected an obstacle
within the prescribed ranges.

HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING

HINT:

Use these procedures to troubleshoot the meter / gauge system.

*: Use Techstream.

1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP

2. INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE

Standard voltage:

11 to 14 V

If the voltage is below 11V, recharge or replace the battery before proceeding.

3. CHECK FOR DTC*

a. Check for DTCs and note any codes that are output (see DTC CHECK/CLEAR ).

b. Delete the DTCs (see DTC CHECK/CLEAR ).

c. Recheck for DTCs. Based on the DTCs output above, try to force output of the same CAN

communication system DTC or meter / gauge system DTC by simulating the symptoms indicated
by the DTC.

1. INSPECT INDICATOR/WARNING LIGHT

a. Check the following indicators and warning lights.

2. INSPECT SPEEDOMETER

a. Using a speedometer tester, check that the speedometer reading is within the allowable range

shown in the table below. Also, check for proper operation of the odometer.

b. Check the deflection width of the speedometer indicator.

0.5 km/h (0.3 mph)

3. INSPECT TACHOMETER (w/ Tachometer)

a. Connect a tune-up tachometer, and start the engine.

b. Compare the test results with the tachometer indicator.

DC 13.5 V, at 25°C (77°F)

TACHOMETER RANGE REFERENCE

If the result is not as specified, the speedometer may have a malfunction.

4. INSPECT METER/GAUGE

a. Connect Techstream to the DLC3.

b. Perform "ACTIVE TEST" or "Active Test" (see DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST ).

OK: Each meter/gauge's needle indication is normal.

5. INSPECT WARNING/INDICATOR LIGHT

a. Connect Techstream to the DLC3.

b. Perform "ACTIVE TEST" or "Active Test" (see DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST ).

OK: Each warning/indicator light turns ON and OFF using tester.
