REMOVAL

1. REMOVE V-BANK COVER (See REMOVAL )

2. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT (See REPLACEMENT )

3. REMOVE OIL FILTER SUB-ASSEMBLY (see REPLACEMENT )

4. REMOVE OIL COOLER ASSEMBLY

a. Disconnect the oil cooler hose and No. 2 oil cooler hose from the oil cooler.

b. Remove the union bolt, plate washer and oil cooler.

c. Remove the O-ring from the oil cooler.

INSPECTION

1. INSPECT OIL COOLER ASSEMBLY

a. Check the oil cooler for damage and clogging. If necessary, replace the oil cooler.

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL OIL COOLER ASSEMBLY

a. Clean the oil cooler contact surface on the cooler mounting.

b. Apply a light coat of engine oil to a new O-ring, and install it into the oil cooler.

c. Apply a light coat of engine oil to the threads of the oil cooler union bolt.

d. Align the protrusion of the oil filter bracket with the cutout of oil cooler.

e. Install the oil cooler with the plate washer and oil cooler union bolt.

Torque: 68 N*m (693 kgf*cm, 50 ft.*lbf)

f. Connect the oil cooler hose and No. 2 oil cooler hose to the oil cooler.

2. INSTALL OIL FILTER SUB-ASSEMBLY (see REPLACEMENT )
