2. ACTIVE TEST
HINT:
Using the Techstream to perform ACTIVE TESTs allows relays, VSVs, actuators and other items to be
operated without removing any parts. This non-intrusive functional inspection can be very useful because
intermittent operation may be discovered before parts or wiring is disturbed. Performing ACTIVE TESTs
early in troubleshooting is one way to save diagnostic time. DATA LIST information can be displayed
while performing ACTIVE TESTs.

a. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
b. Turn the ignition switch ON.
c. Turn the tester on.
d. Enter the following menus:
1. Techstream - Select: Body / Main Body / Active Test.
e. According to the display on tester, perform the "ACTIVE TEST".

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
1. CHECK FOR DTC
a. Clear the DTC (see DTC CHECK / CLEAR ).
b. Recheck for DTC (see DTC CHECK / CLEAR ).
OK: DTC B1244 is not output.
NG: Go to step 2
OK: USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK (See HOW TO PROCEED WITH
TROUBLESHOOTING )
2. READ VALUE OF TECHSTREAM (AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL SENSOR)
a. Operate the Techstream according to the display and select "DATA LIST" or "Data List".

OK: Output illuminance is as shown in table above.
NG: Go to step 3
OK: REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU
3. CHECK MAIN BODY ECU (LIGHT CONTROL SENSOR VOLTAGE)
a. Disconnect the J3 ECU connector.

b. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard voltage
MAIN BODY ECU (LIGHT CONTROL SENSOR VOLTAGE)
NG: REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU
OK: Go to next step
4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU - AUTOMATIC LIGHT
CONTROL SENSOR)
a. Disconnect the J3 ECU connector.
b. Disconnect the K19 sensor connector.
