Use the same procedures for the LH side and RH side.



The procedures listed below are for the LH side.

1. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH

a. Remove the front seat (see REMOVAL ).

2. REMOVE SLIDE AND VERTICAL POWER SEAT SWITCH KNOB LH (see DISASSEMBLY )

3. REMOVE RECLINING POWER SEAT SWITCH KNOB LH (see DISASSEMBLY )

4. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LH (see DISASSEMBLY )

5. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY LH (See REMOVAL )

6. REMOVE INNER FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LH (see DISASSEMBLY )

7. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK COVER WITH PAD LH

a. Disconnect the seat heater connector.

b. Detach the wire harness clamp.

c. Detach the hook.

d. Remove the hog rings and seatback cover wires.

e. Remove the nut and seatback cover bracket from the seat frame.

f. Detach the 4 claws and remove the 2 headrest supports.

g. Remove the hog rings and seatback cover with pad.

8. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK COVER LH (see DISASSEMBLY )

9. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK HEATER ASSEMBLY LH (see DISASSEMBLY )

INSPECTION

1. INSPECT FRONT SEATBACK HEATER ASSEMBLY LH

a. Check the seatback heater.

1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance

FRONT SEATBACK HEATER ASSEMBLY LH

If the result is not as specified, replace the seatback heater.

Tester Connection

Seatback heater temperature 20°C (68°F)

4.9 to 5.9 ohms

2. INSPECT FRONT SEATBACK HEATER ASSEMBLY RH

a. Check the seatback heater.

1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance

FRONT SEATBACK HEATER ASSEMBLY RH

If the result is not as specified, replace the seatback heater.

INSTALLATION

Use the same procedures for the LH side and RH side.

The procedures listed below are for the LH side.

1. INSTALL FRONT SEATBACK HEATER ASSEMBLY LH (see REASSEMBLY )

2. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK COVER LH (see REASSEMBLY )

3. INSTALL FRONT SEATBACK COVER WITH PAD LH

a. Install the seatback cover with pad to the seatback frame.

b. Using hog ring pliers, install new hog rings to the seat frame.

Tester Connection

Seatback heater temperature 20°C (68°F)

4.9 to 5.9 ohms

CAUTION: Wear protective gloves. Sharp areas on the seat frame and adjuster may

injure your hands.
