DTC B1000/31: CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY MALFUNCTION
DESCRIPTION
The center airbag sensor consists of the airbag sensor, the safing sensor, the drive circuit, the diagnosis circuit,
the ignition control, etc.
If the center airbag sensor receives signals from the airbag sensor, it determines whether the SRS should be
activated.
DTC B1000/31 is recorded when a malfunction is detected in the center airbag sensor.
DTC TROUBLE DETECTION CONDITION TABLE
HINT:
When a trouble code is displayed simultaneously with B1000/31, repair the malfunction indicated by this code
(except B1000/31) first.
INSPECTION PROCEDURE
1. CHECK CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR
a. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
b. Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
c. Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait for at least 2 seconds.
d. Turn the ignition switch ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.
e. Clear the DTCs (see DTC CHECK/CLEAR ).
f. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
g. Turn the ignition switch ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

NOTE:
When disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal while
performing repairs, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is
reconnected (see INITIALIZATION ).
After the ignition switch is turned OFF, the navigation system requires
approximately 90 seconds to record various types of memory and
settings. As a result, after turning the ignition switch OFF, wait 90 seconds
or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery
terminal.

DTC B1610/13, B1615/14: FRONT AIRBAG SENSOR RH MALFUNCTION; FRONT AIRBAG
SENSOR LH MALFUNCTION
DESCRIPTION
The front airbag sensor LH and RH consists of the diagnostic circuit and the frontal deceleration sensor, etc.
If the center airbag sensor receives signals from the frontal deceleration sensor, it determines whether the SRS
should be activated.
DTC B1610/13 or B1615/14 is recorded when a malfunction is detected in the front airbag sensor LH and RH
circuit.
