Torque: 54 N*m (551 kgf*cm, 40 ft.*lbf)

b. Install a new gasket and front No. 2 exhaust pipe to the front No. 3 exhaust pipe with the 2 bolts

and 2 nuts.

Torque: 48 N*m (489 kgf*cm, 35 ft.*lbf)

c. Connect the air fuel ratio sensor connector.

d. Connect the heated oxygen sensor connector.

6. INSTALL FRONT PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY (for 4WD) (See INSTALLATION )

7. INSTALL PROPELLER SHAFT HEAT INSULATOR (for 4WD) . See INSTALLATION ).

8. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

9. INSPECT FOR EXHAUST GAS LEAK . See EXHAUST MANIFOLD ).

NOTE:

Some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected. See
INITIALIZATION .

ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

1. CHECK HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR

a. Disconnect the 2 sensor connectors.

b. Measure the heater resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance (for Bank 1 sensor 1)

STANDARD RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION - (FOR BANK 1 SENSOR 1)

Standard resistance (for Bank 2 sensor 2)

STANDARD RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION - (FOR BANK 2 SENSOR 2)

If the result is not as specified, replace the sensor.

c. Connect the 2 sensor connectors.

REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition

1 (HT1B) - 2 (+B) 20°C (68°F)

11 to 16 ohms

Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition

1 (HT2B) - 2 (+B) 20°C (68°F)

11 to 16 ohms

CAUTION:

The procedures should be performed by at least 2 people.

Wear protective gloves when removing the exhaust pipe.

The exhaust pipe is extremely hot immediately after the engine has
stopped.

Confirm that the exhaust pipe has cooled down before removing it.

NOTE:

Some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

2. REMOVE PROPELLER SHAFT HEAT INSULATOR (for 4WD) . See EXHAUST MANIFOLD .

3. REMOVE FRONT PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY (for 4WD) . See REMOVAL ).

4. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY (for Regular Cab Standard Deck) (See

REMOVAL ).

5. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )

6. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )

7. REMOVE HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 1 Sensor 2)

a. Using SST, remove the sensor.

8. REMOVE HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 2 Sensor 2)

a. Using SST, remove the sensor.

(See INITIALIZATION ).

After the ignition switch is turned OFF, the navigation system
requires approximately 90 seconds to record various types of
memory and settings. As a result, after turning the ignition switch
OFF, wait 90 seconds or more before disconnecting the cable from
the negative (-) battery terminal.
