ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

1. CHECK FUEL PUMP OPERATION AND FUEL LEAK

a. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

b. Turn the ignition switch ON and Techstream main switch ON.

c. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Active Test / Control the Fuel Pump /

Speed.

d. Check that there are no fuel leaks after doing maintenance anywhere on the fuel system.

e. Check that the pulsation damper screw rises up when the fuel pump operates.

If the operation is not as specified, check the following parts:

Fusible link

Fuses

Circuit opening relay

Fuel pump

ECM

Wiring connections

f. Turn the ignition switch OFF.

g. Disconnect the Techstream from the DLC3.

2. CHECK FUEL PRESSURE

a. Check that the battery voltage is 11 to 14 V.

b. Discharge fuel system pressure (see PRECAUTION ).

c. Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery.

NOTE:

Do not start the engine.

NOTE:

Some systems need to be initialized after the cable is
reconnected (see INITIALIZATION ).

After the ignition switch is turned OFF, the navigation system
requires approximately 90 seconds to record various types of
memory and settings. As a result, after turning the ignition
switch OFF, wait 90 seconds or more before disconnecting the
cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

d. Remove the front fuel pipe from the LH delivery pipe (see REMOVAL ).

e. Install the front fuel pipe and SST (pressure gauge) to the delivery pipe with the 3 gaskets and

another SST (adapter).

SST 09268-45014 (09268-41200, 09268-41190, 90405-06167, 09268-41210, 90467-11009)

Torque: 39 N*m (400 kgf*cm, 29 ft.*lbf)

f. Wipe off any splattered gasoline.

g. Reconnect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.

h. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3 (refer to "CHECK FUEL PUMP OPERATION AND FUEL

LEAK" in ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION).

i. Measure the fuel pressure.

Fuel pressure: 265 to 304 kPa (2.7 to 3.1 kgf/cm

2

, 38 to 44 psi)

If the pressure is high, replace the fuel pressure regulator.

If the pressure is low, check the following parts:

Fuel hoses and connections

Fuel pump

Fuel filter

Fuel pressure regulator

j. Disconnect the Techstream from the DLC3.

k. Start the engine.
