INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

a. Check if a CAN communication system DTC is output (see DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE

TABLE ).

When replacing the VSC actuator assembly, perform zero point calibration (see
CALIBRATION ).

TROUBLESHOOTING

A: Go To Next Step

2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (SLIP INDICATOR LIGHT)

a. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

b. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

c. Turn the Techstream on.

d. Select the Active Test mode and operate the SLIP indicator light using the Techstream.

DIAGNOSTIC NOTE TABLE

e. Check that the SLIP indicator light turns on and off in the combination meter when using the

Techstream.

OK: The SLIP indicator light turns on and off in accordance with the Techstream operation.

HINT:

When the SLIP indicator light remains illuminated, there may be an open in the wire harness of the
combination meter or abnormalities in the meter circuit.

NG: GO TO METER/GAUGE SYSTEM (See HOW TO PROCEED WITH
TROUBLESHOOTING
)

OK: Go To Next Step

3. INSPECT VSC OFF SWITCH

a. Remove the VSC OFF switch (See REMOVAL ).

b. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

NG: REPLACE VSC OFF SWITCH (See REMOVAL )

OK: Go To Next Step

4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU - VSC OFF SWITCH)

a. Disconnect the A17 ECU connector.

b. Disconnect the J22 VSC OFF switch connector.

c. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

OK: REPLACE VSC ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )

SLIP INDICATOR LIGHT DOES NOT COME ON
