REMOVAL

CAUTION:

Wear protective gloves when removing the exhaust pipe.

The exhaust pipe is extremely hot immediately after the engine has
stopped.

Confirm that the exhaust pipe has cooled down before removing it.

REMOVE TAILPIPE ASSEMBLY

a

Remove the bolt, clamp and gasket

b

Disconnect the tailpipe from the exhaust pipe support

REMOVE CENTER EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

a

Remove the 4 bolts

b

Disconnect the center exhaust pipe from the 3 exhaust pipe supports

c

Remove the 2 gaskets from the front exhaust pipe LH and RH

REMOVE PROPELLER SHAFT HEAT INSULATOR (for 4WD) (see REMOVAL )

REMOVE FRONT PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY (for 4WD) (See )

REMOVE FRONT NO. 3 EXHAUST PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

a

Remove the 2 bolts and 2 nuts

b

Disconnect the front No 3 exhaust pipe from the exhaust pipe support

REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

a

Disconnect the air fuel ratio sensor connector

b

Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor connector

c

Remove the 3 nuts, front No 2 exhaust pipe and 2 gaskets

REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

a

Disconnect the air fuel ratio sensor connector

b

Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor connector and 2 clamps

c

Remove the 3 nuts, front exhaust pipe and gasket

REMOVE AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR (for Bank 1 Sensor 1) (See REMOVAL )

REMOVE AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR (for Bank 2 Sensor 1) (See REMOVAL )

REMOVE HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 1 Sensor 2) (See REMOVAL )

INSTALLATION

INSTALL AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR (for Bank 1 Sensor 1) (See INSTALLATION )

INSTALL AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR (for Bank 2 Sensor 1) (See INSTALLATION )

3

INSTALL HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 1 Sensor 2) (See INSTALLATION )

INSTALL HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 2 Sensor 2) (See INSTALLATION )

INSTALL FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

a

Install a new gasket and the front exhaust pipe to the exhaust manifold with 3 new nuts

Torque: 54 N*m (554 kgf*cm, 40 ft.*lbf)

b

Connect the air fuel ratio sensor connector

c

Connect the heated oxygen sensor connector and 2 clamps

INSTALL FRONT NO. 2 EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

2009 ENGINE Exhaust (2UZ-FE) - Tundra

a

Install a new gasket and the front No 2 exhaust pipe to the exhaust manifold LH with 3 new nuts

Torque: 54 N*m (554 kgf*cm, 40 ft.*lbf)

b

Connect the air fuel ratio sensor connector

c

Connect the heated oxygen sensor connector

INSTALL FRONT NO. 3 EXHAUST PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

a

Install a new gasket to the front No 2 exhaust pipe

b

Connect the front No 3 exhaust pipe to the exhaust pipe support

c

Install the front No 3 exhaust pipe with the 2 bolts and 2 nuts

Torque: 48 N*m (489 kgf*cm, 35 ft.*lbf)

INSTALL FRONT PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY (for 4WD) (See )

INSTALL PROPELLER SHAFT HEAT INSULATOR (for 4WD) (see INSTALLATION )

INSTALL CENTER EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

a

Connect the center exhaust pipe to the 3 exhaust pipe supports

b

Install 2 new gaskets to the front exhaust pipe LH and RH

c

Install the center exhaust pipe with the 4 bolts

Torque: 48 N*m (489 kgf*cm, 35 ft.*lbf)

INSTALL TAILPIPE ASSEMBLY

a

Connect the tailpipe to the exhaust pipe support

b

Install a new gasket to the center exhaust pipe

c

Connect the tailpipe and center exhaust pipe with a new clamp

Torque: 32 N*m (326 kgf*cm, 24 ft.*lbf)

HINT:

Install the clamp within the angle range shown in the illustration
