Using the Techstream to read the DATA LIST allows values or status of switches, sensors, actuators and
other items to be read without removing any parts. This non-intrusive inspection can be very useful
because intermittent conditions or signals may be discovered before parts or wiring is disturbed. Reading
the DATA LIST information early in troubleshooting is one way to save diagnostic time.

a. Warm up the engine.

b. Turn the ignition switch OFF.

c. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

d. Turn the ignition switch ON.

e. Turn the tester on.

f. Enter the following menus:

Techstream - Select: Body / Combination Meter / Data List.

g. According to the display on tester, read the "Data List".

COMBINATION METER

WASHER FLUID LEVEL WARNING SWITCH CIRCUIT

DESCRIPTION

When the volume of washer fluid decreases below a certain level (when the washer fluid level warning switch is
turned ON), the combination meter warns the driver through the master warning light illumination, and the
warning message on the multi-information display*.

deciding whether a part is faulty or not.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1. READ VALUE OF TECHSTREAM (WASHER FLUID LEVEL WARNING SWITCH)

a. Check the DATA LIST for proper functioning of the washer fluid level warning switch.

OK: On tester screen, each item changes between ON and OFF according to above chart.

NG: Go to step 2

OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS

2. CHECK WASHER FLUID LEVEL WARNING SWITCH ASSEMBLY

a. Disconnect the A27 switch connector.

b. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

OK: Go to next step

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (WASHER FLUID LEVEL WARNING SWITCH

COMBINATION METER)

a. Disconnect the A27 switch connector.

b. Disconnect the J28 meter connector.

c. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
