DTC
P0657
Actuator Supply Voltage Circuit / Open
DESCRIPTION
The ECM monitors the output voltage to the throttle actuator. This self-check ensures that the ECM is functioning
properly. The output voltage usually is 0 V when the ignition switch is turned off. If the output voltage is higher
than 7 V when the ignition switch is turned off, the ECM will illuminate the MIL and store a DTC when the ignition
switch is turned to ON.

HINT:
If the judgment result shows ABNORMAL, the system has a malfunction.
11.
If the test result is INCOMPLETE or N/A and no pending DTC is output, perform a universal trip and
check for permanent DTCs
.
HINT:
If a permanent DTC is output, the system is malfunctioning.
If no permanent DTC is output, the system is normal.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTICE:
After turning ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the
negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative
(-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work
.
HINT:
Read freeze frame data using a Techstream. Freeze frame data record the engine condition when
malfunctions are detected. When troubleshooting, freeze frame data can help determine if the vehicle was
moving or stationary, if the engine was warmed up or not, if the air-fuel ratio was lean or rich, and other
data from the time the malfunction occurred.

DTC
P0724
Brake Switch "B" Circuit High
DESCRIPTION
When the brake pedal is depressed, this switch sends a signal to the ECM. Then the ECM cancels the operation of
the lock-up clutch while braking is in progress.

ECM
MONITOR DESCRIPTION
This DTC indicates that the stop light switch remains ON. When the stop light switch remains ON during GO and
STOP driving, the ECM interprets this as a fault in the stop light switch. Then the MIL illuminates and the ECM
stores the DTC. The vehicle must GO (30 km/h (18.63 mph) or more) and STOP (less than 3 km/h (1.86 mph)) 5
times for 2 driving cycles in order for the DTC to be output.
