INSPECTION PROCEDURE
HINT:
Read freeze frame data using the Techstream. Freeze frame data records the engine condition when
malfunctions are detected. When troubleshooting, freeze frame data can help determine if the vehicle
was moving or stationary, if the engine was warmed up or not, if the air-fuel ratio was lean or rich, and
other data from the time the malfunction occurred.
PROCEDURE
1.
INSPECT IGNITION COIL (POWER SOURCE)

OK
(a) Disconnect the D10, D12, D14, D16, D19, D21, D23 or
D25 ignition coil connector.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the
table below.
Standard resistance:

CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (IGNITION COIL - ECM)
(a) Disconnect the D10, D12, D14, D16, D19, D21, D23 or D25 ignition coil connector.
(b) Disconnect the D74 ECM connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

CHECK WHETHER DTC OUTPUT RECURS (DTC P0351, P0352, P0353, P0354,
P0355, P0356, P0357 OR P0358)
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the Techstream on.
(c) Clear DTCs
.
Do not shuffle the connectors.
(e) Perform a simulation test.
(f) Check DTCs displayed on the Techstream.
