ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

1. INSPECT AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR

(a) Disconnect the 2 air fuel ratio sensor connectors.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table

below.

Standard Resistance:

If the result is not as specified, replace the air fuel ratio

sensor.

(c) Reconnect the 2 air fuel ratio sensor connectors.

REMOVAL

CAUTION:

Wear protective gloves when removing the exhaust pipe assembly.
The exhaust pipe assembly is extremely hot immediately after the engine has stopped.
Confirm that the exhaust pipe assembly has cooled down before removing it.

1. REMOVE PROPELLER SHAFT HEAT INSULATOR (for 4WD)

2. REMOVE FRONT PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY (for 4WD)

3. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the air fuel ratio sensor connector.

(b) Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor connector.

(c) Remove the 2 bolts from the center exhaust pipe assembly.

(d) Remove the 3 nuts.

(e) Disconnect the front No. 2 exhaust pipe assembly from the exhaust pipe support to remove it.

(f) Remove the 2 gaskets.

4. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the air fuel ratio sensor connector.

(b) Detach the 2 clamps and disconnect the heated oxygen sensor connector.

(c) Remove the 2 bolts from the center exhaust pipe assembly.

(d) Remove the 3 nuts, 2 gaskets and exhaust pipe assembly.

5. REMOVE AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR (for Bank 1 Sensor 1)

(a) Using SST, remove the air fuel ratio sensor.

6. REMOVE AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR (for Bank 2 Sensor 1)

(a) Using SST, remove the air fuel ratio sensor.

SST: 09224-00010
