DESCRIPTION
DTC
NO.
DTC DETECTION CONDITION
TROUBLE AREA
P006A
After the engine is warmed up and the engine is idled for 30 seconds or
more, the intake manifold pressure malfunction determination value is
higher than the threshold value due to an intake leak.
(1 trip detection logic)
Intake system

MONITOR DESCRIPTION
The MIL illuminates when irregular intake manifold pressure is detected due to an intake leak.
HINT:
When the DTC is stored, the following fail-safe operations occur:
Idling up is performed.
VVT operation is stopped.
Updating A/F learning value is prohibited.
Fuel cut is prohibited.
ISC flow rate is increased (ISC feedback is stopped).

CONFIRMATION DRIVING PATTERN
Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
1.
Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the Techstream on.
2.
Clear DTCs (even if no DTCs are stored, perform the clear DTC operation).
3.
Turn the ignition switch off and wait for at least 30 seconds.
4.
Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the Techstream on.
5.
Start the engine and warm it up (until the engine coolant temperature is 75°C (167°F) or higher) with
the A/C switch and all accessory switches off and the shift lever in P or N.
6.
Idle the engine for 30 minutes or more [A].
7.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes [B].
8.
Read the pending DTCs.
HINT:
If a pending DTC is output, the system is malfunctioning.
If a pending DTC is not output, perform the following procedure.
9.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Utility / All Readiness.
10.
Input the DTC: P006A.
11.
Check the DTC judgment result.

N/A
Unable to perform DTC judgment
HINT:
If the judgment result shows INCOMPLETE or N/A, perform steps [A] through [B] again.
If no pending DTC is output, perform a universal trip and check for permanent DTCs
.
HINT:
If a permanent DTC is output, the system is malfunctioning.
If no permanent DTC is output, the system is normal.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
HINT:
Read freeze frame data using the Techstream. Freeze frame data records the engine condition when
malfunctions are detected. When troubleshooting, freeze frame data can help determine if the vehicle was
moving or stationary, if the engine was warmed up or not, if the air-fuel ratio was lean or rich, and other
data from the time the malfunction occurred.
PROCEDURE
1.
CHECK ANY OTHER DTCS OUTPUT
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.
(c) Turn the Techstream on.
(d) Start the engine and warm it up until the engine coolant temperature reaches 75°C (167°F) or more.
(e) Drive the vehicle at 60 km/h (37 mph) for 5 minutes or more.
(f) Idle the engine for 30 seconds or more.
(g) Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.
(h) Read the DTCs.

2.
CHECK PCV HOSE (HOSE CONNECTION)
(a) Check the PCV hose connections
.
OK:
PCV hose is connected correctly and is not damaged.

REPAIR OR REPLACE PCV HOSE
3.
CHECK INTAKE SYSTEM
(a) Check the intake system for vacuum leaks
.
