REACTIVATE the system.

No

REPAIR circuit RR129C (YE/GY). REPEAT the self-
test, CLEAR the DTCs. REACTIVATE the system.

AM5: CHECK THE PAD SWITCH CIRCUIT FOR LOW RESISTANCE

Disconnect PAD Switch C2R224-B.

Measure the resistance between the RCM
C2R114-A pin 18, circuit CR224A (GN), harness

side and the RCM C2R114-A pin 21, circuit
CR225A (YE), harness side.

Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms?
Yes

INSTALL a new PAD switch.
REFER to:

Passenger Air Bag Deactivation (PAD)

Switch

(501-20B Supplemental Restraint System,

Removal and Installation).
REPEAT the self-test, CLEAR the DTCs.
REACTIVATE the system.

No

REPAIR circuit CR224A (GN) and circuit CR225A
(YE). REPEAT the self-test, CLEAR the DTCs.
REACTIVATE the system.

PINPOINT TEST AN : DTC B10FD 11: DRIVER SIDE IMPACT SENSOR SHORT
TO GROUND

AN1: CHECK THE DRIVER SIDE IMPACT SENSOR CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TO GROUND

WARNING: To avoid accidental deployment, the RCM backup power supply must be

depleted. Wait at least one minute after disconnecting the battery ground cable(s) before
commencing any repair or adjustment to the SRS, or any component(s) adjacent to the
SRS sensors. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury.
NOTE: Use a digital multimeter for all electrical measurements.

Deactivate the SRS.

Disconnect RCM C3R114.

Measure the resistance between the:

RCM C3R114 pin 26, circuit VR217A (GY/YE),
harness side and ground.
RCM C3R114 pin 27, circuit RR131A (VT/GY),
harness side and ground.

Are the resistances less than 5 ohms?
Yes

GO to AN2

.

No

REPEAT the self-test, CLEAR the DTCs. REACTIVATE
the system.

AN2: PROVE OUT THE DRIVER SIDE IMPACT SENSOR

Disconnect Driver Side Impact Sensor C5R217.

Measure the resistance between the:

RCM C3R114 pin 26, circuit VR217A (GY/YE),
harness side and ground.
RCM C3R114 pin 27, circuit RR131A (VT/GY),
harness side and ground.

Are the resistances less than 5 ohms?
Yes

REPAIR circuit VR217A (GY/YE) or circuit RR131A
(VT/GY). REPEAT the self-test, CLEAR the DTCs.
REACTIVATE the system.

No

INSTALL a new driver side impact sensor.
REFER to:

Side Impact Sensor

(501-20B

Supplemental Restraint System, Removal and
Installation).
REPEAT the self-test, CLEAR the DTCs. REACTIVATE
the system.

PINPOINT TEST AO : DTC B10FD 12: DRIVER SIDE IMPACT SENSOR SHORT
TO BATTERY

AO1: CHECK THE DRIVER SIDE IMPACT SENSOR CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TO BATTERY

WARNING: To avoid accidental deployment, the RCM backup power supply must be

depleted. Wait at least one minute after disconnecting the battery ground cable(s) before
commencing any repair or adjustment to the SRS, or any component(s) adjacent to the
SRS sensors. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury.
NOTE: Use a digital multimeter for all electrical measurements.

Deactivate the SRS.

Disconnect RCM C3R114.

Disconnect Driver Side Impact Sensor C5R217.

Ignition switch in position II.

Measure the voltage between the:

RCM C3R114 pin 26, circuit VR217A (GY/YE),
harness side and ground.
RCM C3R114 pin 27, circuit RR131A (VT/GY),
harness side and ground.

Is any voltage present?
Yes

REPAIR circuit VR217A (GY/YE) or circuit RR131A
(VT/GY). REPEAT the self-test, CLEAR the DTCs.
REACTIVATE the system.

No

REPEAT the self-test, CLEAR the DTCs. REACTIVATE
the system.

PINPOINT TEST AP : DTC B10FD 19: DRIVER SIDE IMPACT SENSOR CROSS
LINK TO ANOTHER FIRING CIRCUIT

AP1: CHECK THE DRIVER SIDE IMPACT SENSOR CIRCUITS

WARNING: To avoid accidental deployment, the RCM backup power supply must be

depleted. Wait at least one minute after disconnecting the battery ground cable(s) before
commencing any repair or adjustment to the SRS, or any component(s) adjacent to the
SRS sensors. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury.
NOTE: Use a digital multimeter for all electrical measurements.

Deactivate the SRS.

Disconnect RCM C3R114.

Disconnect Driver Side Impact Sensor C5R217.

Disconnect Inoperative Air Bag Module Simulator.

NOTE: Refer to the Wiring Diagrams for pin detail.

Measure the resistance between the:

RCM C3R114 pin 26, circuit VR217A (GY/YE), harness side and the
inoperative sensor circuits.
RCM C3R114 pin 27, circuit RR131A (VT/GY), harness side and the
inoperative sensor circuits.

Are the resistances greater than 10,000 ohms?
Yes

REPEAT the self-test, CLEAR the DTCs. REACTIVATE the system.

No

REPAIR the circuits. REPEAT the self-test, CLEAR the DTCs.
REACTIVATE the system.

PINPOINT TEST AQ : DTC B10FD 87: DRIVER SIDE IMPACT SENSOR
COMMUNICATIONS FAULT

AQ1: CHECK THE DRIVER SIDE IMPACT SENSOR CIRCUIT

WARNING: To avoid accidental deployment, the RCM backup power supply must be

depleted. Wait at least one minute after disconnecting the battery ground cable(s) before
commencing any repair or adjustment to the SRS, or any component(s) adjacent to the
SRS sensors. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury.
NOTE: Use a digital multimeter for all electrical measurements.

Deactivate the SRS.

Disconnect RCM C3R114.

Disconnect Driver Side Impact Sensor C5R217.

Measure the resistance between the:

RCM C3R114 pin 26, circuit VR217A (GY/YE),
harness side and the left-hand side impact
sensor C5R217 pin 1, circuit VR217A (GY/YE),
harness side.
RCM C3R114 pin 27, circuit RR131A (VT/GY),
harness side and the left-hand side impact
sensor C5R217 pin 2, circuit RR131A (VT/GY),
harness side.

Are the resistances less than 5 ohms?
Yes

INSTALL a new driver side impact sensor.
REFER to:

Side Impact Sensor

(501-20B

Supplemental Restraint System, Removal and
Installation).
REPEAT the self-test, CLEAR the DTCs.
REACTIVATE the system.

No

REPAIR circuit RR131A (VT/GY) or circuit
VR217A (GY/YE). REPEAT the self-test, CLEAR
the DTCs. REACTIVATE the system.

PINPOINT TEST AR : DTC B10FE 11: PASSENGER SIDE IMPACT SENSOR
SHORT TO GROUND

AR1: CHECK THE PASSENGER SIDE IMPACT SENSOR CIRCUITS FOR SHORT TO
GROUND

WARNING: To avoid accidental deployment, the RCM backup power supply must be

depleted. Wait at least one minute after disconnecting the battery ground cable(s) before
commencing any repair or adjustment to the SRS, or any component(s) adjacent to the
SRS sensors. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury.
NOTE: Use a digital multimeter for all electrical measurements.

Deactivate the SRS.

Disconnect RCM C3R114.

Measure the resistance between the:

RCM C3R114 pin 28, circuit RR132A (BU/WH),
harness side and ground.
RCM C3R114 pin 29, circuit VR218A (YE/OG),
harness side and ground.

Are the resistances less than 5 ohms?
Yes

GO to AR2

.

No

REPAIR circuit RR132A (BU/WH) or circuit VR218A
(YE/OG). REPEAT the self-test, CLEAR the DTCs.
REACTIVATE the system.

AR2: PROVE OUT THE PASSENGER SIDE IMPACT SENSOR

Disconnect Passenger Side Impact Sensor C6R218.

Measure the resistance between the:

RCM C3R114 pin 28, circuit RR132A (BU/WH),
harness side and ground.
RCM C3R114 pin 29, circuit VR218A (YE/OG),
harness side and ground.

Are the resistances less than 5 ohms?
Yes

REPAIR circuit VR218A (YE/OG) or circuit RR132A
(BU/WH). REPEAT the self-test, CLEAR the DTCs.
REACTIVATE the system.

No

INSTALL a new passenger side impact sensor.
REFER to:

Side Impact Sensor

(501-20B

Supplemental Restraint System, Removal and
Installation).
REPEAT the self-test, CLEAR the DTCs. REACTIVATE
the system.

PINPOINT TEST AS : DTC B10FE 12: PASSENGER SIDE IMPACT SENSOR
SHORT TO BATTERY
