NOTE: If the forced air extraction gusset is
being replaced, it must be welded onto the
quarter panel before installation of the
quarter panel.

Resistance spot weld.
4. Quarter panel
1. Apply PU glass adhesive to the NVH
element.
NOTE:
The PU glass adhesive on the edge
of the wheel arch must not be
applied as far as the cutting point
on the rocker panel. A distance of
around 20 mm should be
maintained here. The continuous
MIG welding at the cut would burn
the adhesive.
As there is no adhesive in this area,
it needs to be thoroughly sealed
afterwards.
2. Apply PU glass adhesive to the edge of the
wheel arch and to the C-pillar
reinforcement.
3. Continuous MIG weld seam.
5. Quarter panel
1. Resistance spot weld.
2. Puddle weld.

NOTE:
The factory-installed MIG brazed joint
must be replaced by MIG welds in a
different position if a repair is performed.
These MIG welds must not be carried out
on or in the immediate vicinity of an
existing MIG brazed seam, as even the
smallest amount of brazing solder can
result in a reduction in the strength of the
weld seam.

NOTE: NVH elements which are attached to the inner quarter panel with wheelhouse
must always be replaced with new NVH elements.

1. General notes
Remove the following components before
starting the repairs: quarter panel, rear
panel with reinforcement, water drain
panel and water drain panel reinforcement.
Reposition the carpeting and the wiring
harness away from the working area.
2. C-pillar reinforcement
1. Separating cut.
2. Mill out the spot welds.
3. C-pillar reinforcement
1. Grind out the spot welds.
2. Heat the area (approx. 170° C) and
release the NVH element.
